It's been like 5 years since I've been to Canada but I remember Unibroue being essentially the same price as Budweiser or Labatt at the beer store. Belgians were much cheaper also. So there's that.

Lagunitas is not in Pennsylvania?!

 

Is that Canadian dollars or US dollars and whats the exchange rate right now? the price hike might not be as much as it seems.

 

Congrats on the beer score by the way! All those beers are a quality beer I'd drink any day of the week.

 

Believe me, that's a good price for Canada, especially Alberta. Stone just arrived here, their Go-to-IPA is $20 per sixer (I am further north than the OP so YMMV). Good luck getting a sixer of Bud for less than $12.99. Boston Lager is usually around $16.99.

I wouldn't be able to live in Canada with those prices.

 

it is but, where I'm located the closest bottle shop is 18 miles away. never saw any (except 1 time). Found a bottle of Lagunitas Stout at a Wegmans 40 miles from here. A distributor close to the Wegmans doesn't get any (never asked, but never saw) and it is a decent sized place.

I was just shocked because I figured with the Chicago location up and running they would have Lagunitas at every grocery store and gas station at this point... like it is out west.

If I lived in Canada, I'd make sure to live close enough to the American border that it wouldn't be a big deal to do a monthly beer haul.

 

One word: taxes.
