what's the standard price on the 3F beers these days? I bought 2 375 mls ofA and G up in Vt for 16 bucks. Is that near the going rate?

They have a bunch of bottles of Goose Island Cafe de Olla at Whole Foods in Lynnfield.

They also have the Goose Island BCBS ‘17-‘19 vertical gift sets, and single bottles of 2019. Among other Christmas gift packs.

3f has been everywhere in Burlington Vermont area since before thanksgiving. Almost collecting dust and looks like another delivery just hit the area. What’s Tilquin going for, the bevi has had a bunch but hard to pull trigger on a $29 bottle when their are so many good options out there.

Neither. I don't want lagers/pilsners from guys I get IPAs from. I'd rather stick with Notch or someone who specializes in that style. And I'm not gonna bother with a brewery idk without a recommendation.

I can always get fresh Lamplighter, Night Shift or Notch. That's enough to hold me down if there's nothing more interesting.

And right now I could always throw in Celebration Ale...

Yes, the gueze was 18 and A + G was 22 at Marty’s. The 750’s are a little less than double those prices. Marty’s is a little over priced. I like to stock up on those bottles every 6 months or so to age them.

Austin St Patina Pale Ale at Julio's in Westborough. $16.49.

Love this beer. Very pleasant surprise.

That being said, I also purchased a 12 pack of Celebration for $12.99. Celebration is fucking up all the value calculations.

How long do you age a bottle of 3F A&G for? Is there a sweet spot? I had a bottle right off the shelf and it was just ok. It says on the bottle the best by is something ridiculous like 2037.

Patina has been in the area for about a month now from what I can tell. I've seen it in more and more places. Honestly though, for my palate I feel like it's changed in the last few years. Less turbid and juicy. So it's not just taste, it's visibly different.

*And damn, 2019 Celebration is not just fucking up value comparisons, but taste comparisons too.

*I did have a very mediocre draft though at Yardhouse. Honestly, I think the tap line must have been dirty, or it was an off keg (not likely with Sierra Nevada). It was overly sweet and almost buttery as if it had diacetyl. It was better as it warmed, but still wasn't that great. Almost no head on the beer too, but they were busy for the Pats game so the draft could have been sitting for awhile. I've had Celebration on draft in the past, and I don't recall it tasting that way.

I also realize Celebration is slightly different on tap than in the bottle, as @SierraTerence has mentioned in the past if I recall correctly.

Picked up 2 variants of the FiftyFifty Eclipse bottle, the German Chocolate and Banana. Both @Redstone in Stoneham. Expensive, 25$, but always worth it as celebrate NYE and NY day with these bottles. Anyone else pick these up, try them yet?

I picked up a German Chocolate Cake, Peanut Butter Honey, and Salted Caramel at the Fenway beer shop last week. In previous years the vanilla and straight barrel variants have been awesome. I think Fenway marked down previous years variants for a little while. I haven’t cracked any of this years variants, though.

It just gets better and better for the most part. My favorite lambic I’ve ever had was 2000 3F Oude Geuze and I had it in 2017, 2018 and 2019 and it was perfect all 3 times. My problem is I’m not good at letting gueuze sit because I like it so much. But it gets reaalllllly good with 10+ years on it, especially 3F.

Saw a few magnums of 3f OG and A&G cuvee at Nikki's in RI this week. $65 and $95. They also still had a couple GI variants if that interests anyone.

I grabbed a six pack of Grey Sail Little sister. Not a bad little beer at all. Also grabbed OEC coolship lager Americana. Little too sweet and not worth the price tag for me.
