Agreed. Honest Weight might just be my favorite taproom in MA.

I like Rabbit, Rabbit a lot, but I think Pressure Drop is the most impressive beer Lamplighter has put out. Can't think of a comparable ABV NE-style pale that I'd rather stock up on regularly.

While I like pressure drop I found it to be the least impressive on that side of their portfolio. Birds and Rabbit are better imo

I'll try to sneak one in here. The long trail unearthly stout is pretty nice. I really thought 'these little apples' a semi dry aged in rye barrels was mighty tasty. Also grabbed a Narragansett Bancroft ale. Super boring blonde ale. Nothing I would buy again.

The Segago BA Barley wine in the 2 12oz can packs is incredible and a godsend because BIL.

I get a kick out of my mental disconnect whenever I have a Sebago barleywine cans - something about the sound of cracking open a can and then pouring out a big BA barleywine that, even so, looks a little like cola just messes with my head.

Looking forward to Castle Island's Festbier to hit distro. I've been hitting up national/European Oktoberfests but haven't picked up anything local yet (Sam Adams, Jack's Abbey, Otter Creek, etc.). If it hits the mark and is ~5% ABV I'm all over it.

I found some on the Cape this weekend and while I didn't think it was a bad beer per se, I thought it really missed the mark on being a NE IPA. It had almost no nose, was a bit too sweet/malty for the style, and didn't have much fruit to speak of in the flavor. I think they'd have been better off just calling it a generic IPA without setting up such a specific expectation. If they can dial this in though they'll be the only brewery I can think of with standout English, West Coast, and NE IPAs.

Great idea for a thread too. I've really been appreciating Fort Hill and Zero Gravity myself lately and they're easy to find at a couple of my usual haunts.

Oh, and while I don't think you can get these at a beer shop, i was super impressed with Springdale's "Really Though" DIPA and their Brigedairo oatmeal coffee stout. If you like your stouts low on hops and high on coffee, this is what the doctor ordered.

Picked up another 4 dated 8/17 and it was half the beer. Apparently still dialing it in

That's the date on mine too. Good to know at least that that's apparently not quite what they were going for.

Meant to say 2014 JW Lees harvest ale at the beer celler in waterbury. Had one last week and it was stellar.

Two 2012 Adnams Tally-Ho Reserve bottles at Berman's in Lexington. They were back in their chilled back room nicely aging at a cool temperature. I felt like Indiana Jones.

Found a bunch of 2016 Epic Big Bad Baptist in stoneham. Grabbed a few which allowed me to drink rather than hatching those cellared. Awesome beer,
Also grabbed the Galaxy Four Seam from Idle Hands. Pretty good. Bit muted.
Brought done Fort Hill Farmers Frach to a cookout yesterday. Decent standard pale ale, but it was less than $7 for a 6pack so I'll likely reinvest

The Central Waters stuff comes in usually just per quarter, and so far it has only been 4 packs of Brewer's Reserve BA Barleywine, BA Imperial Stout, and BA Scotch Ale.

Have been very impressed with the Sam Adams fall can variety pack. Bought it for the Bohemian Pils, which is excellent. They also executed the Dunkelweizen quite well, and Oktoberfest is its standard solid self. $12.99 for a 12-pack of cans is pretty darn good these days. Only thing better are the House Lager 15-packs.

Aside from that, 500 mL 4-packs of Ayinger Oktoberfest for $11 are absurd. Grabbed a single of the Gansett Fest making its return after a brief hiatus and enjoyed it thoroughly.

Agree with much of what has been said above.

Kinda pissed they missed the opportunity to do a <good> Festbier. I know they are capable of producing a good one but on 2nd thought it would cannabalize their less than mediocre Ofest in mass distribution & would admit that it sucks.

Drinking a World Passport right now, super interesting beer. They call it a pale ale, but they list the recipe as "100% Pilsner malt, 100% Continental hops, and our house saison yeast" which doesn't sound like any pale ale I've ever heard of but does taste pretty close to Jack D'or. It really showcases that bitter, earthy, floral, vegetal, herbal, spicy noble hop character that I love in a saison (or paired with a saison yeast in a "pale ale" I guess). Nice and dry, lovely bottle carb. Too bad this is a one off, I'd buy it regularly if given the chance.

Also, please let Enlightenment 2.0 be a thing soon.

I believe that one of the primary influences for the beer was De La Senne.

    Overly Dedicated was excellent.

Speaking of De La Senne, has their "Brothers in Farms" collab with Two Roads seen shelves around here?
