Nope, actually horrendously under cost, appropriate thing to do would be to ask first because its clearly priced wrong and liquor stores don't have the same rules regarding pricing as say, a grocery store.

When i hear the amount of complaining from beer geeks about a brewery selling out and then see this, i just cringe. Same goes for those same people who complain about brewery sell outs and then shop at a Total Wines, you're no better than Goose Island or Lagunitas at that point.

CBC in Belmont currently has a comical amount of Maine Beer Company stuff on the shelves (including Lunch and other hops). I've never seen remotely that much in one place before.

They're too rich for my blood so I picked up the last 4 pack of Idle Hands Galaxy 4 Seam instead. Sorry about that.

I was in there last week and saw a guy load up on at least 6 bottles of MBC. After I picked my jaw up off the floor I checked out with Alexandr 10° and Trösten.

Was behind a guy at my local the other day who was buying 3 bottles of MBC, then he commented a how ridiculous the price of “good beer” was nowadays to the cashier after the 3 500ml bottles rung up to $26 & change.

Also notice that some MBC beers are still a behind-the-counter offering @ some places. <sigh>.

Does SAM produce Old Fezziwig for individual sale any more? Like a bomber or 6er or 12pk? Not interested in the mixer. TIA

I don't know for sure, but I feel like people complain about the lack of availability of Fezziwig on the main board enough to suggest you can't get it outside of the variety pack.

Some stores near me break up the mix packs so you can buy any beer in it individually...do you have that option near you?

Closest to Boston I've shopped is in Brighton and I think Marty's does this if I remember correctly. I also remember buying singles from a Sam mixed pack at a Craft Beer Cellar location a year or 2 ago. Think it was the Newton location...

One year one of the stores near me broke up the mix packs and made six packs of the individual beers. So I got a six pack of Old Fezziwig. It was magical.

    Dear brother_,

Thanks for contacting us at Samuel Adams. We're glad to hear you're a fan of our Old Fezziwig Ale - we love it too!

I'm glad to hear you're in the Boston area, because the only place to purchase this brew on its own is our Boston Brewery in Jamaica Plain. For the holiday season, Old Fezziwig Ale can be purchased at the brewery in 750mL bottles for $16.99 each.

Aside from that, this brew is only available in the Winter Classics variety pack. I hope this is helpful!

    Cheers,

Maybe they meant a 1.5L? Or lifetime supply?

Yep, 1.5 liters should be about a life time supply for most- but I am glad to hear that some folks out there like the beer.

MB Spirits Waltham is open selling no singles but the prices on 4,6,12+pk are solid. Celebration $13/12pk, Urquell cans $7/4. Good spot to stock up on essentials.

JA and LHBC appeared to be about as craft as they got.

I haven't had a chance to visit yet, but a new craft-focused liquor store called Proof opened up this week in Winter Hill, Somerville. According to news articles they will be running food and booze classes in addition to tastings. From their postings on Instagram it looks like they have a solid selection.

    Thanks for the post!

The one essential I look for personally is the ability to make singles out of any 4/6 pack in the store. Hopefully they allow that. Although I completely understood why most stores don't.

Went to Fort Point Market last night and they had cans of Narrow Gauge, Hop Butcher, and WeldWerks. Never seen these breweries around before.
