im flying into ft Lauderdale Friday and will be on town that night (staying near the airport) and we'll be driving to the keys saturday. Anyone have recommendations on where to stop? I suspect I'll have to stock up on good beer before we head to the keys.
Total Wine and ABC both have Ft Lauderdale locations. ABC has a growler fill station. If you're heading down to the Keys, stop at Mendez Fuel along the way, they also fill growlers and crowlers.
Riverside Market / CraftBeer cartel. Shiv's spot in Davie (although i never remember the actual name but I'm sure @eseids can help) Which Key are you going to? Funky Buddha makes it as far south as Key West and there is a World of Beer down there with some random hidden gems too.
Not a bottle shop but check out The World Found Parrot if you have time. Looks like a dive bar from the outside but they had some killer beers on draft. They also have bottles which you can purchase to go. I was able to find quite a bit of Coffee BCBS when down there in Jan and brought some back with me.
I can't speak for the middle and upper Keys, but check out Summerland Liquors (mile marker 25), Jollys (about mm 4.5) and the Restaurant Store once you make it to Key West. None are huge, but have decent or better selections. Mendez Fuel is great but out of the way if you're trying to get from FLL to the Keys. Plus traffic sucks.
