I may be in the minority in this - maybe even more so in this thread - but I don't generally enjoy beer with food. Often, the food gets in the way of the beer. I want to taste everything the beer has to offer.
Very frequently. And both pairings you mentioned are generally top notch. I am definitely up for a beer & cheese pairing thread! A few good titles (including the one @MrOH mentioned) in addition to Randy Mosher’s classic, Tasting Beer, which also addresses the subject. https://randymosher.com/tasting-beer/
I tend eat snacks after drinking. Like, park my ass in front of the tv at midnight with 3 different bags/boxes of stuff like crackers, chips, Asian snack mix, etc. Pretty turribull.
I love pretzels with beer, however I need to reserve calories, so I don't indulge in the pretzels like I used to. I also like uncrustables every now and then with beer.
Snacks and beer everyday at 4pm. Either crackers and cheese or crackers and hummus. Sometimes Imperial Stouts and popcorn (wifés choice).
addicting as hell. I usually don’t snack on pretzels. The wife liked these when we tried it at one of bars in Seoul. I’m sure the ingredients are not good, for you. But it does taste good.
One of my favorites used to be Beecher's (WA) No Woman with pita chips, but I don't see Beecher's cheeses around here any more. Sartori's (WI) flagship BellaVitano cheeses are available in several flavored rind variations, my favorite of which is Merlot. Milton Creamery's (IA) Prairie Breeze is excellent as well. But it's always cheese, with Stacy's Simply Naked pita chips or Town House FlipSides. They work great for wine, too!
Stacy's Simply Naked and cubes of pepper Jack cheese. When I go completely crazy it's Doritos Cool Ranch.
