Beer Social Media Fatigue

    I love beer, alright, that's why I'm here. But damn...there is just too much....just too many posts, too many updates, and more importantly too many freaking exclamation points!!!!!!!

    I follow a bunch of breweries on facebook for the updates on special releases. They usually have more restrained posts that I appreciate.

    Liquor stores and bars though...Look I love luekens but god damn, you don't have to post every release in ALL CAPS.

    I want to stay informed but man it's getting to me today. Eh, rant over, just letting off some steam at the end of the workday.

    I don't even have a Facebook account. Or Twitter. I just use BA and that's about it. It works for me.

    Same here, except I do have a fairly inactive Twitter account that I use occasionally to check in on certain breweries and local shops. I figure if I don't hear about a certain release and consequently miss out, it just wasn't meant to be.

    Funny because I thought this was going to be a rant about Instagram and taking a pic of every beer one is drinking. I was guilty of that for a while and had to tone it down.

    Or you know you can put the phone down or log out of facebook. Remember the social media fatigue is your own doing.

    The great thing about social media is you have complete control over what you see; participation is voluntary. Don't like the sensationalism? Stop following the sensationalist.

    I don't do Facebook or Twitter or any of that other nonsense. BA is the extent of my social media. My wife calls it "Beer Book" . . .

    I would like my local bottle shops/breweries to post more about deliveries, specials, etc. I think it's really helpful.

    In Germany, macros are known as "television beers." In the U.S., many of the "craft" favorites might be known as "Internet beers." It can, indeed, get tiring.
