While I do love the selection on beer from the beer store their pricing on what they think are limited beers more than a little high. First any limited release beer they will not give you a price before you get to the store. Second most of the releases are raffled off and you have to wait in line for the raffle.

For example, last year I went in for some mad elf and a 6 pack was $23.99. That's crazy in my opinion.

My estimate on mark up was based on a 4 pack of Victory Dirty Wolf as priced at Wegmans

Waiting in line for a raffle takes the cake.

I'll check it out, but of the prices are that high I won't be buying lots of beer there.

Just FYI, according to their FB feed glasses of BCBS and BCBBW are free. Sadly, too far for me to drive on a work night so the rest of you need to have a free one for me.

Planning to head over on an early lunch today and check the place out, no doubt I'll be a fairly frequent visitor, but if the prices are as steep as everyone's making it sound (never been to the other location), I will only be shopping for very specific selections...

Just don't complain about their prices on their FB page or they will block you as they did to me once.

I just got back from the first of many visits... bustling, but not the insanity I was anticipating... I think maybe because I beat the lunch rush. Went small for the first go with a Sanctification (1 per, as were all the RR sours, last one on the shelf) and a 4pk. of The Shape of Hops. Very nicely designed store, free first pour today, and a couple free shaker pint glasses with purchase. Definitely a great selection and that was without the shelves even nearly at full capacity! I'm not going to complain about the pricing- it was fair enough IMO. Local to semi-locals were slightly above what you'd pay elsewhere, but nothing terrible, and heavy hitters were about on point with what I've seen elsewhere...

Looking forward to heading back, any local BA's feel like meeting for a pint from the sure-to-be awesome tap list, just shoot me a line!

Stopped in around 2pm. Decent crowd. Got a free BCS which was awesome and my first ever. Good selection with the shelves about 70% capacity. Tons of Eclipse @ $30 a pop. Good Mikeller and Evil twin selection. Prices a tad inflated from other stores, but that is to be expected on the main line. Picked up an Imperial Biscotti Break and out the door I went. Ill go back to pick up some things I can't get anywhere else. Also, the people working were super friendly.

Also stopped by today around 2:30. Got my free pour of BCBS...yay! Nice place, good people, good selection. Still not fully stocked. I don't think the prices are that outrageous. Just shop carefully. Got 2 bottles of Big Black Voodoo Daddy which I have not found anywhere else since several months ago. Welcome!

Thought the aisles were very tight especially if there are other people browsing right next to you but other than that the store was nice and clean with good selection if your wiling to pay the price

Well it didn't take long for this store to become just like the one in Southampton. Today they did Shapes of Hops to Come and Grapefruit Sculpin as a 5:00pm release. The release itself went somewhat smooth other then they waited for a random time to start taking names for who would get these beers. They tapped grapefruit sculpin but made you buy a Big Eye before you could buy the Grapefruit draft.

The release itself was a limit of 3 GfS and 2 SoHtC plus you had to get some Brown Shugga. Not bad other then they charged $5.99 a 12oz bottle of Grapefruit and $3.99 for a can of Shapes & $3.99 for a 12oz Shugga bottle. Last time they had SoHtC they sold it for $9.99 a 4 pack which was a great price, now it would have been $15.96!

I understand if you can't afford it don't buy it but thats not the issue. The issue for me is if you are going to raise your prices to fu amounts from what you were selling things for at least tell people ahead of time.

tomorrow they are doing a KBS raffle - who knows what they will charge a bottle….

I just don't get these special releases they have for regular beers. I've been buying 4 packs of TSOHTC for a couple of months now (not at this store). Why are they all of the sudden making this a special release and you can only get 2 cans. And I believe they have had this beer pretty regularly from what I understand.

I just don't get why this place holds onto beers and releases them like they have some new release that nobody else has. I was only in their once so far and I asked the one dude when they were getting in the Spring House stouts. He then told me it should be soon and that they will have a special release for it. Why??? Just release the darn beer when it's available like everyone else.

A couple of weeks ago they released Bells Mars like it was something new but that's now a 4 month old DIPA. Seriously??

Just don't like the games this place plays with releases and hate raffles. I definitely won't be shopping here on a regular basis if at all really. Probably just the occasional drive by.

I have to say, not a huge fan of these 'special' releases either... things seem to be going askew rather quickly. Occasional shopper might be the more likely story

They just want to hold special events to make them seem relevant. I called them out for charging $10 for a bottle of KBS one year when I saw it for cheaper at other places. They cited all the trouble they had to go through to get a beer like that as if other stores don't have the same problems.
