Hey guys, so my brother lives in Pitt, and is bringing beers for me down to Alabama for our family xmas get together. I live in San Diego and pay an arm and a leg for Pipe works, 3 Floyd's, Founders, Bells, and Southern Tier. Is there any place in Pitt that has a killer selection for any of those breweries? My dad la coming from Michigan for the trip, so bells/founders isn't an issue. I want a creme brulee, choklat, java stout, and any pipe works or 3 floyds brews. Also, any advice on what beers from troegs? I've had mad elf.. but that's it. I'd prefer beers that are cellar worthy..but am open to any style. Thanks in advance!
Pipeworks - no (that I have seen) 3 Floyds - sooooometimes at house of 100's beers but it's expensive Founders, Bells, ST is everywhere. Troegs - I like Java head and Nugget Nectar (not out now) and you can find all their stuff everywhere. Lots of small breweries popping up that might be worth checking out - Roundabout, Hopfarm, draai laag, fat heads (brew pub), and Church Brew works to name a few. I'd be surprised if you find Floyds. Have him get you a Southern Tier Creme Brulee. Fantastic. Dessert beer def. Troegs Nugget Nectar, Pale Ale, Troegenator. Bells Two Hearted. Fat Heads If he's near the Market District have him stop there too. Good selection. House of 1000 beers is nice too.
Whole Foods in Wexford is one of my favorite spots as far as selection and price. I do most of my shopping there. They should have most of what you're looking for. Except for FFF and Pipeworks, of course.
