Beer Stores Near Aiken SC

    I just moved to Aiken SC from the Albany NY area where there are 4 amazing beer stores in a 20min radius. I was wondering if y'all knew of any really good ones down here because so far I found the largest selection at a Krogers and it kinda sucks being in a beer desert.

    Yeah, the selection in Aiken isn't great. If you haven't already been, Harvard's (behind Moe's/next to Fresh Market) probably has the best lineup, but it's not saying much. Fresh Market doesn't really have anything better than Kroger.

    I haven't shopped in Augusta in a while, but Aficionados on 8th Street was the best spot for me. I'll probably make a trip over there soon to see how it's looking now.

    If I'm going to some serious beer shopping, I just make the extra drive to Columbia and hit up the Green's on Piney Grove. It's worth the trip.

    I went to Harvard's late yesterday after my post, while the selection wasn't the greatest at least they had some craft. I guess I'll be going to Columbia for my future serious beer shopping.

    If you go to Green's piney grove, you'll be able to buy in enough bulk that you can not worry about going anywhere for awhile. Frankly, I think it's the best beer shop in the state.

    Toast Wine and Beverage and Beverage Outlet in Martinez both have good selections, and they actually carry some stuff that is not available in Columbia (Lost Abbey, 21st Amendment).

    You should probably try North Augusta wine and beverage too, to the best of my knowledge they carry the widest selection of craft beer in the greater Aiken/N. Augusta area.

    Wine World has a good selection too, but I would go there more to hunt for gems than anything else.

    If you want a great selection of growlers then go see the guys at "Gravity Growlers" on Furys Ferry road in Martinez. 25 Taps and reasonable prices!
