Damnation?

 

There's a little deli about a block from where I work downtown that, I believe, still has a few bottles of Damnation sitting on the shelf. They also have some Unibroue 17 from a year or two ago.

 

Wasn't allocation of Pliny tied to sales of Damnation? I can see more than a few places saying, "OK, I'll take the x cases of Damnation if it means I'll get Pliny in the future" and then being stuck with Damnation for a loooong time.

 

Burgundian and Hudson Public House still have bottles. Probably for this same reason.

Shit, I've still got bottles in a box somewhere that I forgot about.

Not to dis Damnation, but if there was a general run on RR stuff after they announced their pulling out, and it's been almost a year, I think a few shop owners might be feeling like they got stuck with slow moving inventory.

 

All they would have to do is lower the price a little. It's much cheaper in California.

 

It was $4-$5 here in WA... can't see it being much cheaper there.

 

Just had my first Damnation too...really is great.

 

Where do you shop? I want to go there. Damnation hadn't been $5 or less in years anywhere I saw. Was typically 5.50 - 6.00.
I load up at Bottle Barn in Santa Rosa at $4 a pop when I go there.

 

I remember it being consistently $5 at Whole Foods and QFC. I always ignored it though, cause you know.
