Going to be in Providence, RI on Friday and Lowell, MA on Saturday. Any good beer stores in those towns? Don't really want to venture outside of town too far, want to spend time drinking the beers not driving around looking for the store! Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Georgio's liquors in Billerica (one town over from lowell) has a very good selection. Lincoln Liquors in Billerica can be good, but can be hit or miss most times as well.

In Providence, be sure to check out the following places:

Nikki's (technically in North Providence, but very close to wherever in Providence you will be).
High Spirits (In the Whole Foods plaza on North Main St.)
Bottles (corner of Pitman and Gano St.)
Eno (smack downtown on Westminster St.)

    Thank you!

Thank you! Nikki's looks like a great place. I'm staying downtown on Exchance Terrace, which is a couple miles from Nikki's. Honestly, how nasty is Friday night traffic in Providence? I've only been there once, and it was to go to the Foxy Lady, we didn't roll in to town till around 11p, so I don't think that's a true gauge. We'll be getting into town around 6-7p, will it be a pain in the ass to maneauver around? I ask based on typical Friday night traffic in Providence, obviously. Traffic doesn't bother me, I'd just rather not be held up in a car when I'm in town for something else.

Getting over to Nikki's from Exchange Terrace on a Friday after 6:00 shouldn't take more than 10 minutes. If you google map your route it'll probably take you through the areas where there would be more traffic. Beermail me if you'd like suggestions on alternative routes. I'm assuming you're staying at the Courtyard downtown, yes?

Getting anywhere in Providence on a Friday night can easily be a huge pain in the ass. But if you know some short cuts, you can be anywhere you want in the city in no time.

EDIT: Small problem. It's black friday and if indeed you're at the Courtyard, then you are right by the Providence Place Mall. This means that my originally conceived short cut is probably a no go as you'll be stuck behind 50,000 assholes trying to buy televisions for $1. Truthfully, I think between Eno, Bottles and High Spirits, you'll get everything Nikki's has UNLESS you're looking for sours. Nikki's has many more sours than those three. But if you're just looking for stuff that you can't get in your area that comes to RI and some other random stuff, those three places should suffice. That said, you'll have to drive to all of them (not Eno, you could walk there) too. They are closer, but again, black friday....But if Nikki's is where you want to go, I dig it, like I said, beermail me as I do still have some other ideas on how you could get there.

DOUBLE EDIT: Where are you going for dinner? 'Cause I've got suggestions for that too, ha ha ha.

If you have a car and are driving from one to the other, then stop at Yankee in Attleboro and Julio's in Westboro.
