I'm on vacation in NYC to visit some family in the Bronx. I'm in Co-op City right now, anyone know of any good beer stores I could stop by with a large selection that isn't too far from me? I leave on the 26th.

Edit: I did first consult the places listed near me through the "Places" tab but its hard to chose without any personal suggestion.

Deccico's in Armonk (about 15-20mins away) has a great choice of stuff and they do Growler/Crowler fills(this goes for any Deccico's)

I'm so far from everything :slight_frown:. Via MTA Deccico's is like 2.20 hours away.

Edit: I noticed there was one in Harrison. My mistake.

When people see NYC recommendations needed in a thread title, they are usually expecting midtown Manhattan or Brooklyn.

If you can make it to either Decicco's Larchmont or Half Time Mamaroneck, you'll be in good shape. I've never been to Decicco's Pelham, but it definitely isn't as known for it's beer selection as the others (but it probably still is OK). With your criteria being large selection, Half Time is what you should be aiming for since it's on another level than almost anything.

At Half Time you can take singles from any six pack. They also sell growler fills. Prepare to spend a lot since prices are high and the options are huge. Beware of old bottles - this store is plagued by them.

Decicco's Larchmont is slightly closer to you. You can drink at the bar there upstairs and they usually have a good tap selection. You can get crowlers there. You can't break six packs there, but they might have a dedicated singles selection. Most of the inventory is refrigerated if I remember correctly. Selection is great but not Half Time level. The store isn't as plagued by old bottles but they're there too.
