Hey Guys! So a few months about I bought my first kegerator and the guy I bought it from threw in a tank of beer gas (75% N2, 25% O2). So I've brewed a Coffee Nitro Stout, and a Nitro Mosaic Session IPA that were both really good. Any other beer styles I should try before this tank kicks? Thanks! Gauss
Nitro beers typically show little hop bitterness and have almost no CO2 acidity bite, for obvious reasons. So beer styles that do not rely on too much bittering or sharp acidity work better than others. One reason many people really don't like Nitro IPAs. But basically anything can go on Nitro, It's your beer. Cheers.
I can second that the Rubaeus is quite good. Unique too. My personal favorites I've had are Left Hand's Milk Stout, a Nitro PB Stout that was local, and a Smoke and Dagger porter that had some smokiness to it (as the name implies). A place near me also has a Cookies and Milk stout on Nitro that's got strong chocolate notes. IMO can't really go wrong with any kind of porter or stout
