Looking for some advice/opinions... every Labor Day weekend I do a beer tasting where I feature a brewer and open several varieties from that specific brewer, i.e. belgian, IPA, porter, stout, etc... I've usually followed an order similar to which you'd experience with the typical taster flight, light to dark. But, there are many different varieties of each.

This year, I'm featuring Hoppin Frog and will pour 10-12 different varieties. Starting with Turbo Shandy and ending with, (prob) BORIS Royale. What order of variety seems to work best for you?

Don't know those beers, but the idea of light to dark color works less well with beer than wine, which is where that rule comes from. Order the beers by impact on the palate, e.g., lighter on the hops before heavy on the hops. (Lots of hops have a strong effect on the taste buds that it takes them a while to recover from.) Similarly light flavored malts before strong flavored malts....

I generally thing you should go from least flavorful to most flavorful. End with your hoppiest and/or booziest beers. throw in one or two palate cleansers in the middle, something like a wit. I am under the impression that "light to dark" is misguided, because by that logic Ruination would come before Guinness even though the former is much more flavorful than the latter.
