SNPA, as much as I hate to say it. Still a great beer, but I can't deny that I rarely reach for it on the shelf these days.

Adelbert’s used to be my favorite brewery, and the one that got me started on craft beer. It’s still good, it’s just that their is so much choice out there that is just as good or better.

I'm a bit confused. You say kbs has set the bar high, yet it doesn't impress you. Then what barrel aged beer surpasses that bar and impresses you?

Delirium Tremens, but I love the pink elephant tap handle.

Pliny The Elder. It ceases to stand out after the third try.

saying it because OP is saying what's a beer that you said wow with that now you are saying this is good but not like the first time. Personally for me kbs was my first BA beer so I was spoiled and you can imagine the wow factor I had with it, but revisiting kbs it will not give me the wow when I originally had with it. To me kbs is still exceptional to me but does not recall the og taste I had originally for it. "Last years was better" hahaha

Odell Myrcenary. The first time I had it I was in Fort Collins for a conference and the time and place and everything was great and it tasted like the best beer I had ever had. It truly blew me away. I can't get any Odell brews in Canada. So about 6 months later I was in Fort Collins again and I went to the brewery and had a Myrcenary. I didn't really enjoy it.

I'm back in Fort Collins in October. I'll try Myrcenary again. I'm very interested to see how it tastes.

Man, I hate to say this but Guinness, the original reason I became a beer snob around 1985, bores the shit out of me now. The bottled version (NOT the Foreign Export, that one's good) just doesn't taste the same, and draft tastes like weak, watered-down coffee. I recently bought a 4 pack of old favorite McEwan's after a long hiatus and I was pretty underwhelmed by that one too. $12 for that, so I guess I should be glad it's not in 6 packs any more.

Shipyard Pumpkinhead. I drank this like a fish but now I can't stand it. It reminds me of Killians, always tastes flat.

I'm sure there are a number of beers in this category but I'm going with zombie dust. I used to pick it up or order it on tap anytime I saw it. But it's a little one note, and there are so many local, fresh ipas that it isn't worth the effort.

Most tripels. I used to love them, and specifically La Fin Du Monde. Still is a true classic, but I just can't do the style too much anymore.

I tried a Westvleteren the other day. Same batch, 2-3 years after cellaring. Enormous difference, with a scent of raisins that wasn't apparent before. They need add a 'potential for aging' portion of the reviews, like how Wine Advocate designates 10 out of its 100 points to just aging potential.

No offense, but that's always been one of the worst beers ever.

For me Hop Stoopid, but it might be because I can never get it that fresh. Sucks also.

This. 15 years ago it was amazing; I'll still go to it if that's the only "good" beer I can get at a particular place... but it's definitely been overwhelmed by the mass of other really good hoppy beers.
