Headed to Geneva and Bern over Spring Break. What beer tips do you all have? What are the best type of shops to find bottles/cans?
Geneve: Bar: Au Coin Mousse, in Rue du Fort-Barreau 21. Bottle shop: Drinks of the World, in Place de Cornavin 7. Bern: Bar: Biercafé au Trappistes, in Rathausgasse 68. Bottle shop: again Drinks of the World, here in Bahnhofplatz 10 (the railway station). For local and national beers, try the Manor supermarket in Marktgasse 10.
If you are into lambics, the Swiss brewery with the best and most sour ales (not real lambics of course, but some of them are close) is BFM Brasserie des Franche-Montagnes.
Sorry, forgot one "s" in the brewery name. https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/2958/?view=beers&show=all#lists
Oh yes I am a big fan! I was wondering more if place in Switzerland get Belgian Lambics in the bars and shops?
I’m happy to report Switzerland exceeded my expectations, quite a fun beer scene that is coming along. Pretty much drank Swiss and German lagers, Belgian styles ales from Switzerland and Belgium, and yes, I did get my hands on Belgian lambic. Multiple cantillon that I hadn’t tried before, very exciting! But seriously, lager everywhere, and I am here for it!
We're staying in Wengen, Lucerne, and 1 night in Zurich. Daytripping to several places from there (Bern, Interlaken)
@Jesseix Cafe Aus Trappiste in Bern for sure. If you look at my profile I reviewed all the places we went. The bier cafe in the Zurich train station is lager heaven. If you like German food lots of great places with house beers and lagers
