I have an acquaintance up in Oregon and he offered to bring back time tasty beverages from that fine state. Without having him go search and search for some hard to get stuff what suggestions do any of you have. I live in Southern California so I am looking for local off the shelf stuff that isn't distributed down here. If anyone knows of some good stuff please let me know. I have access to HotD but only Adam and Fred. How obtainable is other stuff from them? Also any local small brewery suggestions would be helpful.
    Cheers.

Get a growler of Boneyard. RPM or Hop Venom.

As for HotD, you'll be able to get bombers of Blue Dot and 12 oz. bottles of Ruth easily.

What styles are your favorites? Where in Oregon is your friend?

He is in Oregon city. I enjoy all styles. Just out to try things I can't get down here. I'm looking for bottler preferably.

Oregon City doesn't have many beer options. Haggen Grocery might be the best bet. HotD Blue Dot is likely the only option other than Adam and Fred. Gigantic IPA sees decent distribution, Logsdon saisons are excellent, Upright Gose is currently around, Heater Allen stuff is pretty good across the board...just thinking aloud here. I'm sure you'll get some other recommendations but those are some grocery store beers worth checking out.

If your friend can't make it to the bottle shops in Portland (O.C. is 15-20 min drive from downtown), he might want to try Market of Choice in neighboring West Linn. In the past they have carried HotD Adam/Fred/Blue Dot - but may also have Doggie Claws left on the shelves. Lots of bottles at MoC (but some don't sell quickly, so have him check dates when possible); they also have a beer/wine person to offer some help if needed.

Some good suggestions already - I always like the Fort George 16 oz. cans (Cavatica, 1811, Sunrise OPA, TLE...) and agree wholeheartedly with hopsbreath's Heater Allen and Logsdon suggestions. Breakside just started bottling a couple weeks ago (their IPA and Pilsner) and maybe will have some Bourbon Barrel Aztec reach distribution (not 100% sure).

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I'm going to shut this onedown. Wish I could afford them all. Thanks.
