I'll be staying in Auburn over the weekend and looking for advice on breweries in the area or at least beer I should look to try (and where) that I can't find in Texas.

I'll be with in-laws and will have access to their rental car but access will definitely be limited.

Looking forward to the trip and any advice I can get!

Definately go to Knee Deep Brewing, and hit Auburn Ale House for lunch or dinner and beer.

Another cool little taproom is the World Pub. Enjoy....

Cool! Thanks for the suggestions everyone. Looks like I'll be showing up to the wedding slammed with all of these beers I need to fit in in two days!

Auburn Alehouse has chicken fried bacon.

Also, if you want to get a taste of a quirky small NorCal town, take 193 East to Cool, which has a little brewpub. Since you are from out of state, I think this would be a fun little diversion for you.

It doesn't sound like you have time, but a cruise down 80 to Roseville/Rocklin will give you several additional breweries and taphouses.

You'll definitely get the most bang for your buck by staying in town, both Knee Deep and AA are excellent, excellent breweries with a wide selection of options.

So I'm back. It was a nice visit but why was it so damn hot?

Auburn Alehouse was nice enough to visit twice. I really enjoyed Knee Deep and got to have some fresh west coast IPAs and even some triple IPAs! Their non-hoppy beers were very good as well. I even got my in-laws to visit their first brewery at Knee Deep and they loved it!

Thanks for the suggestions everyone, I wish I could have ventured a little further into the surrounding areas.
