This forum seems to be a hotbed for conflict. It was originally created as a place for conversations when posting was removed from ISO/FT, but now that posting has been re-instated in the ISO/FT forum, does this forum really have a purpose? In my opinion, if we really wanted this to be a general help forum for new traders, it would be nothing more than a few stickies on how to pack a good box, trading etiquette, and a bad trader list (although a feedback system could even make that obsolete).

I know that this is one of the more fun forums to read, but with all the people railing against the trading scene these days and all the pro-ebay/pro-profiteering posts that you see...are we really accomplishing anything "good" here other than establishing above face value valuations on beer and letting the curious know that it is cool to maximize on beer and factor gas costs, line waiting time, etc into the trade value of beer?

I say keep it open. It keeps some of the more controversial discussions out of people's ISOs and eliminates the old 300 response threads that used to pop up there that bumped everyone else off the main page.

I voted keep it going, but with a caveat. While the arguing is obviously not good for anybody, this section is where I lurked to figure out how to get in to trading. I feel that it needs to be what it was meant for, help. That's it. The bros have been talking about getting mods, so a mod should be in this specific board and all posts should be kept to advance the education of traders. No more asking for valuations, no more complaining about beers that aren't worthy getting whale status, just a n00b corner.

But, if we have to get rid of it, I would say there needs to be a sticky in ISO:FT that is fairly comprehensive on the basic rules of trading (new person ships first, don't drink anything until your box lands, etc.)

I think a better question is does the OP have any business being active on this website. Only whining and bitching from him lately.

Closing this thread would just transfer over all the stupid, petty arguments to the other forum.

point well taken. like many other "vets" from the site looks like a new breed has taken the helm. i think my time in the trading forum is done. time to go underground for trading and keep my fun out of the public trading subculture, it certainly has become a SUB culture lately. enjoy...seacrest OUT.

before i go, i think i'll change my vote to beckett's since that seems to be the correct answer.

Are you referring to the poll or cosmicevan's sign-off right above your post? (…Both?)

I voted keep it open for comic relief, but I want to change my vote to Close it, there is no value for this forum since posts are allowed in ISO/FT forum.

Go back to the way it was years ago in one forum, get rid of the WHAT WILL MY SNPA GET ME????? threads, and grow some damn skin. Do not use BA as a personal eBay and there will be less thread shitting.

Bad trader threads could be included in the regular trade forum.

    It is not rocket science.
In most cases a 200 bottle release that has 50 great reviews and many wants is not going to get picked up for a 2012 Dark Lord from someone with no trading history no matter how generous the person is unless you have established a relationship.

If you post for it, I say let the comic relief begin. I offered dreadnaught for KBS and got the treatment in 2006 and I am still here.

why in the world would they close this? so we can have all of the bullshit overflow into the actual trade forum? people are going to post questions and "trade value" threads somewhere, so let it be here.

Keep it open for comic relief. I do not even trade and I check this forum pretty often.

I am surprised there are "0" votes for the option below based on the multitude of posts in that forum:

Keep it open, it really helps me maximize the value of my beer

This isn't actually true, this forum definitely existed before ISO/FT when to no responses, so I'm not sure how a return to responses being allowed in ISO/FT would be cause for removal of this forum.

I say close it. Less forums = less posts = each post being more RARE!
