Anybody out there employed as a Merchandiser for a beer wholesaler or similar position? I have worked in a brewery warehouse as a shift supervisor as well as around two years as the brewing supervisor at a regional brewery. Lately, I've been weighing my options as to where I would like my love of beer to take me. I have gained a lot of experience in brewing, but will need to go back to school for a certificate to advance into the industry and potentially move away from friends and family. Many pros and cons make up my inner dialogue to consider pursuing a career in the sales field, so I thought I might open up the conversation beyond the id and superego over my shoulders. What do you like and not like about the gig? Also, if a private message with a ballpark for salary/benefits/bonuses isn't asking too much or prying-- that would be helpful in my decision-making.
