I think barfdiggs is on to it, my immediate gut reaction was the same as his, the GP you used as a basemalt tends to result in hazy beers, MO will do this as well

If its not that it must be that damn stokes law and brownian movement fighting again, they never can decide who wins :sunglasses:

Just used MO/no Whirfloc/Windsor in a Stout figuring the color would hide everything...no such luck : (

In my experience, Golden Promise just doesn't get very clear, unless you do a two step mash. It seems to have a lot of proteins. When I brew with GP, I just generally accept that my beer isn't going to be as clear as if I were to use pilsen or 2 row. Unless you're entering competition, I wouldn't worry about it, if the beer tastes good, drink up! Cheers.

So4 is one of those yeasts that won't drop clear with heavy hop additions (NEIPA) Although your hoping level wasn't crazy maybe it's a mix of factors.

I strongly suspect the OP is not still waiting for this beer to clear. Just a hunch.

I heat 1 tsp gelatin in 1 cup of brew from the hydrometer jar to 150 and add and swirl into my just kegged (not cooled) keg and 2 or 3 days it's clear and continues to clear...no need to wait for the keg to cool and I don't cold crash...ever

So you never drink your beer cold? Simply by putting your beer in a kegerator and chilling to serving temp, you are cold crashing and dropping particles out of suspension.

Could also be related to your water chemistry on two fronts. Incorrect mash pH may have led to higher than normal starch carry over. Second, insufficient calcium also hinders yeast flocculation. S04 is a crazy flocculating yeast though and I've had it floc out in beers where don't make water adjustments in my 35ppm Ca tap water source. So I'd look a little deeper into the mash and boil part of the process to solve this issue.

What was the outcome? Did you get it to clear? What did you do? What secret have you uncovered?

It kills me when people ask a question, and then you never see them again. The suspense is killing me...
