Surprisingly good! Simcoe is the star on this one I think. Good to see solid local beers.

I love when they have this on tap. I also really enjoyed their Espresso Stout last month. Beer works usually doesn't blow you away but their beers are fresh and solid.

I just visited the Framingham location on Friday as I'm buying a house nearby. I normally don't like Beer Works...but had only been to the Boston locations. I had this double pale ale and the Nobscot IPA in Framingham and I found both to be great, but I was really taken back by the Nobscot IPA - holy crap. It tastes like it comes from Vermont. Huge suprise. A fantastic beer right under our nose in an unlikely location, and they said it's always on tap. I might occasionally bypass growler fills at Jack's for the Nobscot at Beer Works.

As for the double pale, I thought I was picking up a heavy amount of cascade?? Just my guess. In any case, I was pleased.

I believe I first had this at Boston Canal St, but Lowell has had this on tap often when I visit there.... It's my go-to bier when I visit Lowell - solid stuff...

    Prosit!!

I had the Double Pale Ale at the Hingham location on a few occasions maybe 3 or 4 years ago, and was very pleased.

Agreed with all I think I rated it way above the average when I tried it. Very very solid
