    BeerAdvocate (BA) is looking for a part-time, remote editorial assistant to join our team.

    BA’s editorial assistant will be responsible for updating and maintaining the back end of the website, writing blog posts, and fact-checking and proofreading magazine content. All BA employees telecommute. Applicants should email a cover letter, resume and two references to [email protected]. Deadline: March 21, 2014.

    The ideal candidate will:
    • Be extremely self-motivated with a proven ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining a high level of attention to detail
    • Demonstrate a strong knowledge of the craft beer industry
    • Be able to maintain a high level of professionalism in an often casual work environment, especially when it comes to respecting beer
    • Write and communicate with humor
    • Be comfortable communicating and working remotely
    Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree, preferably in communications, journalism, English, or related field
    • At least 1 year of experience in the publishing industry preferred
    • Familiarity with website management systems
    • Exceptional writing and interpersonal skills (the EA will be communicating with staff members, writers and industry professionals)
    • The ability to master AP style
    Job Responsibilities:

    Web:
    • Building a web archive of previous issues
    • Creating content for a new components of beeradvocate.com
    • Updating and managing general digital content
    Editorial:
    • Fact-checking magazine content via phone calls, web research and queries to writers and industry professionals
    • Proofreading the magazine, ads and ancillary publications (like festival guides and press releases) according to in-house style guidelines, which draw mainly from AP
    • Brainstorming and researching new content for the magazine
