We're holding a tasting next week, and @vurt had noticed me mentioning that I hadn't tried the beers from a certain brewery, and he's sending some of those beers for the tasting. Thanks!

What about you and your generous self? When you sent that mystery box I was expecting a few shelf wants, not a growler of snake handler, jai alai white oak, citrus ninja exchange, and laika among others plus a mini ccbc snifter! I feel I'm still repaying you with each box I send.

Don't ya just hate it when they refuse to listen??? @Kadonny is a perfect example of the wonderfully stubborn BA. Sent him a beer he'd been wanting to try and never had the chance to. I told him not to reciprocate. Told him I was too busy at moment to send address, even went out of town and he still sent anyway. Thanks Keith! I also agree ... BEER IT FORWARD!!!!! It feels great to get a box of unexpected beer karma. It feels even better sending that box! (Try it and you'll see what I mean!)

    More BA generosity.

My future Mother in law was scrolling through instagram and tagged me in a picture of a beer. I was surprised as I don't typically use it for beer... Ha. It was for a New Glarus strawberry rhubarb pie. This was her father's favorite pie that his wife would make for him when he was in the coast guard. She asked me to get it for him and being in Savannah, Ga distribution does not come this far. Put out an I SO and received a response in less than 30 mins. Thank you. Grandpa will be enjoying some craft beer this Thanksgiving!

If you've got Bourbon County to unload, hit me up and maybe we can trade.

@Hendrick24 and I are meeting up and he's just giving me some not your father's root beer. Definition of being a (root) beer advocate...very nice of him. It's a beer I wanted to try and he's just passing it into me just because

If you get the chance to trade with @PuckIt just do it. Guy is one the few that'll take the time to look at wants. Cheers to you for your latest bomb. Lookout.

I hope she doesn't mind, but the timing here is too perfect as I would like to nominate @phuntasy for her extreme generosity.

We've done many trades and we had set one up not too long ago and she had sent 2 packages at the same time and sadly, 1 of those packages was stolen by a dishonest individual in my apartment building. I did everything I could to try to recover said package, but I came up with nothing and felt pretty devastated. It was a bad situation and I was bummed about it, but she insisted that she would make it right. And did she ever.

I had her send this latest round to my work address this time to avoid any issues and today I received the best package I've ever gotten. I think it was better than the original package I was due to receive and that package was really amazing. The generosity just completely blew me away. I still can't even put into words how grateful I am. She expected nothing in return but I hope in due time that I can repay her generosity.

For my very first trade on this site, I was looking for some Flying Dog Gonzo, which is the one Flying Dog that's not available around me. @Iamjeff6 responded to my ISO, telling me that he'd grab me three bottles on his next trip to the store. I waited for him to request something for a trade. He never did. He messaged me again saying that he got the beers and would ship them out to me the next day. I asked him what he wanted in return, and offered to pay him the cost via Paypal. He refused.

When I got the shipment, it had the three Gonzos and a few extras (including some Three Brothers Drift, which is now one of my favorite IPAs). Surprised by all the free beer, I messaged him, again offering to send some beer his way. Again he refused. He told me he just wanted to spread some generosity throughout Beer Advocate.

What a great introduction to the Beer Advocate community.

I have 3 instances of individuals really going out of their way to show generosity. This has been my first year in the craft beer scene and I've been lucky enough to have met some awesome people through it.

First shout out goes out @lftwng4 and the Ohio BA's that have really helped me out since I moved here. I moved here on my own for grad school from Southern California and thought I was gonna be in trouble beerwise. Boy am I sure glad I was dead wrong about that. Have been to some awesome shares out here and the people have been so good to me even as someone they have never met.

Second goes out to an instagram BA that I follow. I was back in CA at my favorite Bruery  just before I was supposed to fly back to Ohio and noticed that a guy I followed on instagram was there as well. I commented on his photo and we struck up a conversation. Guy was from the east coast picking up his allocations from there and AleSmith. Somehow the topic of Heady came up and I mentioned I had never had one and that it was on my wants list. We finished talking and I went back to sit with my dad. A couple minutes later I get a tap on the shoulder and he places a can of Heady on my table says goodbye and walks off. I freaked out. One of the coolest experiences I've had.

The third one just happened recently. I was going to hang out with my buddy in his hometown that was near a pretty well known brewery. I posted on one of the threads asking for some help about what to try. I get a message from one of the brewers letting me know that they were closed on the day I was visiting but to give him a shout when I was in town. I did and he pulled up and gave me and my buddy a tour of the facilities and some samples of the beers on tap. I got a chance to buy some great stuff and he definitely didn't need to do that. Amazing experience from a great freaking brewery.

Through my experiences I have decided to give back as well. Dropped a Pliny off at a place in Oklahoma for just letting me know they had Prairie Bomb and just recently gave a Zombie Dust to a customer that I had never met because she wanted to get some Pale Ales for her husband's birthday. The way I see it is these beers are amazing and though I always love having more the really joy comes from the experience of sharing with those that haven't and blowing their minds.

Cheers to all of you generous BA's and I hope to meet some of you. BCBS day anyone?

You give yourself too little credit. Let me remind you that you sent a package to me with the expectation of receiving nothing in return. You laid the first goodwill beer karma branch to me, you are the awesome person here, not me. I just hopefully kept the good feelings going forward. You allowed me to try an awesome beer that had eluded me for years and for that I am eternally grateful and I can never pay you back fully. As I told you via PM, you deserve everything you get in return and more.

I hope some day I can do this good deed unto another.

I'm not sure if Adam wants me to tell you two. But he's on untappd. He's not going to admit it, but he could probably use a little lovin' right now if you're able to. As he has been very generous to me and those around him the past couple months.

@TillTheMedicineTakes gave me the chance for my first trade and has continued to help me out even when I live in a bit of a beer wasteland. Always wanting to repay Mason for the kindness. He first introduced me to Avery BA stuff and RR sours in one trade. Hook him up if you trade with him!

While I've not been a part of the BA community for very long I have to say that I feel privileged to share a hobby with such an incredible group of people. The stories here, the general tone of the site, and my personal experiences have proven that there is a very real desire to help one another and that is rare enough in life.

Recently I was shown a huge amount of generosity from @lookrider while discussing a trade. While I didn't have anything on hand that he was interested in he sent me a Chocolate Rain and Pliny the Elder out of kindness and nothing more. Chocolate Rain has been my girlfriend and mine's white whale for some time as we love Bruery releases. We were feet from getting our hands on it at a beer fest when the keg kicked and that made the search all the more intense, and frustrating. I fully intend on repaying his kindness when I can although I know he does not have the expectation of me to. So cheers to Craig (lookrider), and the others like him that make this a true community and not only a forum.
