I'm a month away from my first "beercation" to the northeast with a couple buddies, and I can barely contain the excitement. I'll be hitting up Vermont, NY, Jersey, MA, and PA and hitting the likes of Hill Farmstead, Tree House, Other Half, as well as some places we can stock up on cans of Heady and Lawsons. I'd be interested to hear of some of the BA community's epic beercations, and what were the highlights/funny stories.

Been to Denver for GABF and some breweries of course. Gone north in my own home state, WA, to check out the brewers up there. And took a detour while in Chicago to hit 3 Floyds in neighboring Indiana. All super fun.

Every vacation/trip I take turns in to a bit of a beercation. It's practically unavoidable

Going on a beercation myself this weekend in Denver. I have my bar specials planned out that the most we will pay for a pint is $4 and the least we will pay is $2 dollars from 11 am til bar time. It is a great place for a beercation due to all the specials and if you stay downtown you can walk to all the bars.

Every trip I take out of state is a beercation. In a given week of travel I try to sample 20 new beers from either local breweries or brews that are not distributed to my area (Upstate NY). For example, I was in Dallas last week and got a chance to try a beer from Jester King. Delicious. I also picked up some brews that are not current'y available at home.

I have been fortunate to have been able to go on several. My favorite was our trip to Asheville, North Carolina. I was able to go to Wicked Weed, Wedge Brewing Company, Hi-Wire, Green Man, French Broad, and Pisgah Brewing company. I was also able to go to some of the areas best bottle shops as well. My wife and I had an awesome time and I really hope to get back there again one day.

I've been on numerous beercations, but the one I'm going on starting Saturday will probably be my most epic, beerwise (though SoCal I'm sure will offer stiff competition). I'm hitting up 22 breweries over 10 days between Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, and Wisconsin, with my fiance and 2 friends. Cannot wait. I've done numerous Northeast beercations thanks to my geographical location, including the 7 hour trip up to Hill Farmstead just last weekend. It's an awesome region to beer vacate!

Chicago in mid May, right when arrived drove straight to Kenosha, WI to pick up some New Glarus stuff, then back down to Three Floyds on first day. Many of the Chicago breweries/pubs rest of trip.

Just back from VT, my innkeeper (by request) stocked our fridge with Lawson's and Heady before we arrived. You're going to have a great time. Did the Hill Farmstead visit....hit Lost Nation and Rock Art....Fiddlehead, Crop Bistro, Vermont Brew Pub, and others.....the Waterbury bar scene was excellent, found some Focal Banger there. Made a contact before going who made a Fiddlehead MasterMind can release run for me, so got those home, along with HF, Heady, Lawson's, 14th Star, Foley Bros, and finally Trillium before flew back home from Boston. With better planning, would have hit Tree House too.

Only ones I've done are to New York, specifically to Ommegang. Did a weekend away with them and a local B&B in Cooperstown, had a blast, then won a trip to their Snowmmegang weekend a couple years later.
I've hit Dark Lord Day, but was going to Chicago area anyways that weekend. And a few day trips to Maine or Vermont a couple times.

Fall of 2009- Czech Republic including U Fleku & The Golden Tiger in Prague, Pilsner Urquell in Plzen and Chodovar in Chodova Plana. Guinness and the Porterhouse in Dublin. The little Bruges Bear, Mort Subite, Delirium Tremens Cafe and Cantillon in Belgium.
But last fall Firestone Walker, Lagunitas and Russian River was good too.
If you're a beer lover I cannot recommend the Czech Republic enough. The beer flows like wine and the quality and prices are nothing short of incredible. The unfiltered, unpasteurized Pilsner Urquell fresh from wooden lagering tanks in Pilsner Urquell caves is still be best beer and best drinking location I've ever had.

I agree with you on the Czech Republic--been there nine times and there is no better beer experience/culture in the world. But you forgot to mention the greatest attribute of drinking there. You get those unfiltered, unpasteurized PU's for about $1.50 US Dollar for a half liter. Greatest deal in the universe.
