Sounds like a Pale Ale on tap tonight with Nelson hops. Going to go fill a growler or two.

Finally got a chance to trek across the state and give these guys a try on Saturday. If you haven't done so yet, I highly recommend it! Their newest DIPA, "Dogs and Boats" is absolutely excellent. Honestly right up there with some of the great ones from NEBco and Vermont. Wish I lived closer!

Vegemite Sandwich DIPA and Midnight Oil Oatmeal stout were very good as well, but the new one is killer.

If anyone is on the fence about visiting Beer'd... I would recommend hitting them up this weekend.

From Facebook: 'World At Large APA is back alongside last weekends very popular Dogs & Boats DIPA also on for fills Vegemite Sandwich DIPA and P^2 Porter. See you at five!'

I agree with @MenardMa. Dogs & Boats is a fantastic, juicy DIPA worth checking out alone IMHO. Plus the fact that they have Vegemite & World at Large both of which are very excellent hoppy offerings should make for a great weekend. Come on down and check out what Aaron is doing... it's worth the drive.

Plus the farmers market is at 10am in the same building as the brewery. Makes for a nice little Saturday.

I'll be honest that I've passed over Beer'd numerous times in the store namely because of their name and/or labels.

I finally did buy & try and we really impressed, so yes, it's true, you can't judge a book by its cover. However, I can't imagine I'm the only one that has done this?

Yeah I think you are confusing them with someone else. The only thing they have ever had bottled was their collaboration beer with Relic called Nano-a-Nano. I got my bottle at the brewery so I'm not sure if that ever got distributed to stores.

Hmm...might be totally right on that one. Now I'm intrigued and want to figure out what the hell I was drinking.

Edit: Figured it out; was 3 Beards -- better than I thought it'd be, but right around the limited ratings they got.

I cracked mine last night as well and I agree completely. It is great. It's like a 9.1 ABV hop juice...

I was surprised to see them roll out a new beer on a Sunday. I missed it last weekend but I'm certainly going this Friday.

Went to Beer'd on Saturday... Wasn't really expecting anything too amazing but the buzz on here has been good so I went in hoping for something good. I was really pleasantly surprised. One of the better experiences I have had at a small brewery. The beers were all quite good with the pale ale (World At Large) easily being my favorite. My wife wasn't as much of a fan, however, her comment was that at lot of the beers smelled like armpit (which I have seen happen with some people with heavy handed Citra use) which I did not get at all. The brewer is a real down to earth guy that seems to love talking to a homebrewer about all the hops/malt/facts about each of his beers.

I think the best part of it is where they are and how they are set up. They have two separated areas to line up for tasting and growler fills. You drop off your growlers and pay; they then take them in back to be CO2 purged and counterpressure filled which gives you an opportunity to walk around a bit or taste some more beer. They are located in an old factory in Stonington (http://www.thevelvetmill.com/) that now houses some art studios and other crafty businesses. It was pretty cool to walk around and check out the place while waiting for my growlers to be filled.

This and Dogs & Boats are my favorite hoppy offerings by them.
