Just checked out Beer'd Brewing yesterday in Stonington, CT. Nicely done tasting area, and some damn fine beers on tap. The Dogs & Boat DIPA was exceptional. Growler fills are cheap too.

I really like them. If they weren't a solid hour from my house, i would definitely be there more often.

I actually set out yesterday to check out Proclamation (they are very new but their beers are good) only but looked up Beer'd and found out it wasn't too far. Plus I got to drive through a part of RI I legit havent been through in years.

Solid people , solid beer, great to have them close to me. I started another thread a while back where people will post their experiences...
Can't wait for the Realization DIPA sitting in gin barrels right now!
8 Days a Week their single hop Citra pale is really good as are all of Aeren's hoppy offerings. His saison is also fantastic.

Oooh, love the info about the DIPA in gin barrels. They do everything so well, that even tho I don't like gin, I must try that.

Repetitive, but: great beer, great people, great outlook on...life and beer. Wish they would distribute more. 2nd best brewery in CT currently.

Solid line up. The porter was outstanding IMO. Overall good experience at the brewery.

Beer'd is pretty awesome, went last spring for the first time and they were still just getting rolling but it seems recently theyve really started killing their beers, especially the IPAs.

Does anyone know if they have any plans to get some of their beers out further west in CT? I've heard a lot of good things, so I want to give them a shot without having to drive an hour.

From my speakings with Aaron, I highly doubt it (at least not in the immediate future). They have only 2 draft accounts in which they can not keep up with and they sell out batches very quickly from growler fills alone. Dogs and Boats was on for like 3 days this past time.... which seems to be about the norm lately.

Hit me up as I go there regularly and would love to spread the love. I travel to Hartford a few days a week. Or if you want to take the plunge, they are having an tap takeover at the Engine Room in Mystic...

    **American Craft Beer Week**

    -Dogs & Boats DIPA

Fantastic brewery. I have been there a couple of times and it has been a great experience each time. I loved their Grove Stand and the Dogs & Boats is awesome as well.

Purely by eyeball, their capacity is probably something like 1/20th of NEB. I'd guess they are staying very SE corner until they expand quite a bit. If you ever do find yourself out that way though, there are fantastic restaurants in Stonington and Mystic, it's a worthwhile dinner trip.

I am hoping to stop by Beer'd on Memorial Day Weekend and wondering what to expect in terms of prices, policies, and lines. Are outside growlers accepted? Is there typically a limit? Recognizing that holiday weekends may lead to larger crowds, is there often a wait on Saturday/Sunday and is there a better time of day to avoid lines? Can you do tastings while waiting for growler fills, or is that a separate line? I couldn't find this info on the website or Facebook page.

Eli Cannons is going to tap a log of Hobbit Juice tonight. Maybe they will start getting some Beer'd stuff every now and then. That'd be great...

Yes, they do accept outside growlers. I don't think there is an established limit as yet either. I have only been on one Saturday and they took the growlers and the wait was about 10 minutes or so. There were about a half dozen people in line or so I think. Tastings are usually done on the right side when you enter the brewery and growlers on the left, pretty much different lines. Aeron usually handles the growlers and Prescious does the tastings (with someone in the back room filling growlers). Not sure how busy it will be that weekend though.

As for prices, I think they are in the 8/16 range (32oz vs 64oz) for their double IPAs and 6/12 for most everything else.

Went today for the first time on my last trip between RI and Long Island. Picked up a growler of Hobbit Juice (Dogs and Boat, which I heard is awesome, was out today). Cracked the growler about an hour ago and have already gone through three pints. This stuff is really, really good. Definitely knocked it out of the park with this single hopped Nelson DIPA. So fruity and almost white wine tasting.

Arrived at 2:45 pm. 4 people on line for growlers in front of me. Easily a dozen people drinking samples. Wait was about 7 minutes (I timed it because I had my dog in the car and on a hot sunny day like today I don't like to leave him in there more than 10-15 mins tops). Very nice staff. Definitely will be checking this place out again in the future if I am up in the area again. Unfortunately, it took me until my last weekend in RI to visit.

Eli Cannon's had Hobbit Juice on tap last week and from what I've read, it didn't last long. People were actually asking for it before it was tapped which i thought was very interesting. I'm looking forward to trying their stuff sometime soon.

    Beer'd just posted today:

Be sure to check our beer out at two new spots, Two Brothers Pizza in Salem and Smokey O'Gradys in East Lyme! Get it before it's gone!

Slowly but surely they are moving into other areas of CT! So excited  Two brother is 10 minutes from me, versus the 40 minutes that it takes to get to Beer'd!

Not sure if 2 bros with regularly get logs. Hope so. I know Nik visited the brewery and wanted to support them. Had Hobbit Juice on....didn't last long! Hopefully they get regular deliveries but I doubt it. It's hard enough for Aaren to keep the engine room stocked! 2 bros is my spot so hopefully I am wrong.

So lines usually aren't too long here?

Do they generally have at least one of the DIPAs on tap for growler fills?
