I love sports stats, fantasy football and whatnot. I never feel tempted to keep stats on my drinking, It just feels like too much work. I have a bucket of beer caps, is that close enough?

Shit, i better get them out of the garage, I didn't think about rust. I'm gonna use them for a tabletop or bar top. Way prettier than a spread sheet:grin:

I have -5 to 0 interest in beer stats. But I remember basketball stats from high school and college from 50+ years ago.
A friend in the neighborhood who we played basketball with was a walking computer, spouting statistics from all sports. He never forgot anything. He is retired as Sports Information Director Emeritus at UNC. He was Dean Smith's right hand man for decades. It seems some people just are compelled to compile and analyze.

I was speaking of Rick Brewer, but I suspect you may fit the profile "down to a T".......

Bar-tops always work. Use a good quality clear expoxy resin. Try it out on some Corona or Bud Light caps. Also, crinkly side down. Important, that one.

It can be can confusing when a place name is used to designate a style and not necessarily point of origin. "American-style Porter" would be more suitable, I'd say, to identify a porter brewed with more hops than traditional porters, than just saying an "American Porter".

In my own personal taxonomy, I tend to categorize porters, simply as either 'sweet' or 'dry', with the latter being my preference by far. There are two porters from Poland that are readily available where I shop: Zywiec 1881 and Black Boss. The Zywiec is, in my opinion, a perfect Baltic-style porter. The Black Boss... yuck... too sweet, like drinking a candy bar.
