Beers for Cinco de Mayo?

Pacifico, with a lime. Yes, not supposed to add things into a beer, whatever.

 

I'm gonna have to go with Corona and lime. Seems to have a bad rep around here but I think it's pretty dang refreshing from time to time

 

Pacifico or Sol. Corona if I can't find the first two. I love shitty Mexican light lagers.

Whatever's in the newest "Beers of Mexico" variety pack I picked up earlier today. Definitely NOT Corona! I just can't even...

 

It would either be a Tecate or Bohemia.

 

Forgot today was cinco de mayo and I just poured a new Manor Hill Citra Splendor DIPA. No regrets at all with the error in beer choice, its quite an excellent DIPA.

I'll have to whip up something for dinner now I can throw so salsa or hot sauce on to make up for the beer error.

 

Flying Dog Numero Uno is my personal favorite for the style. Gringo beer!

 

I don't celebrate it. I'm not Mexican nor do I have any Mexican friends or family members. I don't need a reason/excuse to get drunk. I just do it!

 

21st Ammendment El Sully. I've been loving that beer since it came out.

I went with Tecate, paired with fish tacos and grilled corn. Tonight I had Founders Mango Magnifico.

I was pleasantly surprised with the Tecate. I got this because it was by far the cheapest Mexican beer on the shelf ($6.49/6 at Target, less 5% Red Card discount - yes, you get this on BW&S too). It doesn't get a lot of love here, but I thought it was pretty damn tasty and paired nicely with the food.

No beer for me today, unfortunately -- still recovering from a cold, nose is a bit stuffed up, and in my experience beer doesn't taste nearly as good when I'm in that state.

If I had gone for a Mexican beer though I probably would've picked up some Negra Modelo if I could find it (six-packs seem to be becoming rarer around here, though one Kroger still carries the 12-packs and Negra Modelo is a beer I wouldn't mind having a dozen of), maybe grabbing one of those 4-packs of Tecate pint cans if not. I have been feeling like more like lighter beers (like 5%-range and under, not super hoppy/roasty/yeasty/etc.) lately...
