Finding good beer in the Caribbean is always a challenge. You'll mostly see watered down lagers like Carib, Turks Head, Kalik, and Presidente. Red Stripe is usually available too but good luck finding any quality craft beers.

There is no good beer in USVI, but it doesn't matter because you are in USVI!
Magen's beach is one of my favorite beaches and offers bar service. A hot (actually there were two) lady in a bikini will deliver your Carib right to you which makes it taste even better:grinning:

Like the CraigP said, "drink the rum". Actually Crusian run is very good. Give it a try. Ween yourself from beer for a few says and when you get back home y'all can start all over again. Your palate should be very receptive after a short hiatus.

Reviving this thread. Any good spots on the island. I found one bottle shop, Ale House, but not sure if there are any others or if there are any grocery stores that carry anything beyond BMC in the stores.

Going at the end of July, any BAs live here?

Just got back from St. John yesterday. Spent one night on St. Thomas. Didn't really find any good beer at either place, but St John has a small contract brewpub in Cruz Bay. The people are friendly and the beer was OK. If you do make the day trip, their brewpub burned down and they are in a small but accommodating temporary nearby location.

My favorite days that we left the villa before dinner were:
    1. Charter to BVI's - Went to Jost and got drunk.
    2. Rented a boat and toured all the beaches from Cruz bay to Watermelon Cay. Best spots were: Both beaches in Hawksnest, Cinnamon Bay (although the birds were huge assholes) and Mahoe (best snorkeling that I saw on the island. Saw turtles and a large reef shark). Honeymoon and Trunk bay are the most popular but I thought they were least impressive.
    3. Hiking to Solomon Bay and Hiking on the East End of the island.

We went with 3 other couples and stayed in a few days as well because our house was pretty awesome. If youre having dinner there, my favorite restaurants were La Tapa and ZoZo's.

Also - St. John goes all out for Carnival Week (4th of July). The town was up partying very late every night this past week, so my perception of the night life may be a bit different than others.
