Hoppin' Frog on the whole. Big bad ass bombers I gotta share as getting through on my own is a feat. Too good to try to salvage later or the day after, hands down the one brewer I wish would bottle 12oz or pints.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, 98% of light beers, they've always tasted gross to me. Like getting a fountain drink that's more soda than syrup.

Any beer that has a buttery mouthfeel or body, that's a drain pour type offense.

If I'm struggling, it's a drain pour. If I take my time it's by choice, not necessity. Too many people not being honest about quality.

I've learned that sharing a 22oz or 750ml is more often than not the best course of action...Love Child #5 was great, but so acidic that it made the inside of my mouth feel like tissue paper after drinking the whole thing myself. I was just disgusted with myself by the end of Creme Brulee. However, I can get nice and cozy (drunk) with a 750ml of Dark Hollow any time.

Oaked Arrogant Bastard. Good beer, but after a night of good beer it was like chewing on a 2x4 there at the end.

a good reason that all these high abv , strong taste beers that come in bombers should be a 12 oz bottle. I have a bunch of large formats I cant open till I have friends over. I love Labyrinth but a 13% barreled stout in a 750 is too much to enjoy at once for me. Sometimes I wish some of these beers came in 7 oz bottles like the macro beers do

I had a large bottle of Gueze that was great the first glass but after that I wanted something else. Took a bit to finish it. I try to only buy small format when available even if the $ oz is a bit more unless I know it will be split btwn a few people

    Enjoy

What are Amateurs??? The only beers that are "work" are the gross ones. Might as well pour em out and move on!

I think the style that is probably the most difficult to get through to me is something that is really sweet. I can pound IPA's til the sun comes up or I pass out! Heat is also not an issue, but Creme Brulee is one that I will probably never buy again because it was so sickly sweet. I enjoyed it while I drank it and I believe I rated it fairly high at the time, but then it absolutely made me sick the next day. Something about it just hung with me in a bad way!

Mocha Wednesday. When I'm drinking a big beer like that I use a taster glass and just take it 4 - 5 oz at a time.

120 Minute is the poster child of "hard to drink a whole bottle". I'll also add Double Bastard and Olde School.

Cuvee Van De Keizer blauw. Jesus H. Christ. Only beer I've ever used a chaser with to get through the beer.
