DFH 120 10oz draft was hard. Bottle with age is excellent

Double DBA, but that's only when faced with the proposition of finishing the entire bomber myself. Parabola I could do without blinking.

Have to echo what others have said about bottle size. I can knock back Deliverance or Older Viscosity in those beautiful 375ml bottles. But 750 would be too much.

BBC Bourbon barrel stout. The flavors really were nice. But after half a pint I was forcing it.

Rumpkin. It was good, but so rich. Of course, I was drinking it after a Thanksgiving meal, which did not help.

Rumpkin definitely challenged my resilience. I had to break out some dark chocolate to cut through the sweetness. Great combo

Stone's Russian Imperial Stout. Way too burnt and boozy. It took me like an hour to drink two-thirds of the glass, and I couldn't finish it.

I see a lot of other people having trouble with double or "triple" IPAs, but for me, hops = drinkability. Even Sierra Nevada Hoptimum was almost too easy to drink for me.

Avery Samael's Ale and The Beast and Founder's Breakfast Stout, just due to the intense amount of unending coffee.

Averys The Beast. I just had one for the first time a couple of hours ago, split a 12oz with my friend and we both struggled to finish it. It was absolutely delicious though.

I quadruple the folks naming super-saccharine big ales. A few that leap to mind are Even More Jesus, Bois, Stickee Monkee and Pump[KY]n. Mind you, these are all stellar brews, but after I've have a few ounces I want to consume nothing but celery for the next 24 hours.

You did not pay $19 for Crème Brûlée. Receipt or it didn't happen.

Ballast Point Habanero Sculpin was pretty tough it was really spicy. First time I had Russian River Supplication was work, the beer just did not appeal to me and I did not want to drain pour a $14 bottle.

Maybe my palate has changed over the course of 5 years, but I remember Dogfish Head World Wide Stout taking me 2 hours to drink just one!

I wonder what the avg BA rating for beer named in this thread would be? I suspect for the most part it would be very high. If so, then high rating correlates with "work to get through" to a certain extent. What do you suppose that suggests? "Yeah baby, yeah! I endeavored (suffered?) through this so it must be AWESOME!" is just one possible suggestion. Sometimes complicated and challenging for challenging's sake just isnt worth it.
