I love both beers--and both are excellent representation of Centennial hops--but to me Founders Centennial IPA seems more straightforward Centennial character. Maybe just because it's the more piney and bitter, imo.

Hmm, Randy Mosher wrote in Tasting Beer that "hop tea" doesn't really work, which is somewhat reinforced by this article:

    https://underthejenfluence.beer/i-tried-it/2017/1/17/i-tried-it-hop-tea

"While this experiment was helpful, it wasn't particularly enjoyable. Hot hop water is not good, everyone.

Overall, making hop tea this way to learn more about hop flavors is kind of an outdated way to learn about hop flavors. It was helpful, but wasn't the "Ah-ha!" experience for which I was hoping."

So I guess you can sleep well again in the knowledge that you probably didn't miss much.

It was common knowledge a while back that it was not all Centennial, Warrior for bittering. Has it changed?

A very small part of Vt at that, outside the brewery that's remote it's in a few select bars in the immediate vicinity. At least it used to be, great beers very tough to get.

Having spent a good amount of time in New Zealand and loving the Sauvignon Blancs from Marlborough, it was nice to find Nelson Sauvin hops which do seem to impart some of that gooseberry and lime fruitiness to well made beers. It makes a crisp and refreshing aspect.

I've never had a beer that showcased a hop more than Trillium DDH Stillings Street. That beer was pure Nelson Sauvin hops and I loved every bit of it.

My favorite is the Revenge Series from Revision. They've had ones for Citra and Mosaic, and they just did Simcoe - outstanding DIPAs.

Yeah . . . hop oils, which give the finished beer most of its hop-related character, are much better extracted by ethyl alcohol.

    at about 14.99 for a 15 pack.

Two excellent beers - Centennial IPA is my go to beer at about $15 for a 15 pack. Can't go wrong. I will say that I bought a 15 pack of the Mosaic Promise and I'm not having a love affair. It's okay, I just don't find it a very satisfying beer, really one dimensional - but that's just my personal opinion.
