My wife is going to Asheville next weekend. She's offered to pick me up beers to take home. What good local stuff would you recommend?

Wicked Weed and Burial. Of she doesn't mind traveling a bit outside head to Fonta Flora in Morganton, NC.

I'm sure you can get some locals to chime in but it'd be helpful if you mentioned what kind of beers you like. If you like IPAs (based on your avatar), I think WW Pernicious and Freak of Nature both are good. If you want to send her one place (to make things easy), you can peruse Bruisin Ales' website for what they have in stock and you can make a shopping list (though Bruisin isn't the only bottle shop in town). Cheers!

Send her to the Appalachian Vinter which is south of downtown, best Asheville bottle shop IMO. Bruisin Ales is nice and downtown, mostly single sales if I remember correctly.

Tasty beverage on south slope is good too. Found some great beers there today. They even had the latest Zebulon releases.

WW and Burial have loads of good options to go. The main WW brewpub has a huge to-go store with tons of beer, glasware and apparel if that's your thing as well.

Thanks for all the recommendations. My best bet would be WW brewpub or a bottle shop then. I just want to try some local stuff (IPA, stout, whatever really) that I can't get up north.
