We sleep on Clown Shoes for sure, They have a lot of great stuff - Chocolate Sombrero alone has gotten me some pretty sweet trades.

My verdict for my skipped beer tasting was a solid meh. May keep on skipping.

Never have I ever bought anything from Left Coast, Abita, or Moylan's. Haven't bought anything from Flying Dog or Rogue in 4+ years. Also, there's another Dog brewery (Laughing Dog? Thirsty Dog?) whose bombers seem to take up a lot of space at Spec's, but apparently I haven't bothered to learn their name, much less try their beer.

Try the Taddy Porter. It's great. I alternate between Fullers and Taddy.

Fullers is king IMO. The porter is the definition of the style, I for one like it much more than Taddy. Not to say that is bad. Though as a whole, Fullers is the best Texas gets as far as English beers at the moment. Fullers Vintage is one of the best beers anywhere, and 1845 is pretty damn good as well. Not relevant to Texas, but casks of London Pride, ESB, and Porter in the UK are without a doubt some of the best beers I have ever had.

My favorite local pub (Draught House in Austin) always has a rotating cask of ESB or Porter. I somehow haven't ever had either. I'll be sure to grab whichever they have next time .

Wilson's ESB, is one of Draught House's own beers, and is probably my favorite example of a traditional cask made in America. Which is no small task, especially if you know my stance on cask, or beer in general. Get it next time you see it.

Maybe when their brewhouse renovations are complete, they'll make some for me .

Yeah, I heard they're moving the brewhouse into the dentist's office, who is closing up shop.

Oh, really? I haven't asked, but I didn't know that. I'm going twice in the next three days, so I'll ask and see if I can extract any more info.

Yeah, they're going to be expanding the inside of the first floor to take up all the space (by knocking down the wall between the brewery [which used to be the kitchen, btw] and the pub and moving stuff upstairs.

I'll jump on the Vitus wagon, it's a hell of a beer. Especially for $3 at Spec's. or was it $4. It's that good!

Laughing Dog CSB on draft is some really good stuff. I swear the flavor changes about every other drink.

I like them both, but I think Winter Solstice has more vanilla, & it has a lighter mouthfeel. Haven't had Creme Brulee lately...will do a side-by-side next time I get some!
