Avery The Czar. Give it 6 to 9 months and this is a great beer. But it sits around forever on shelves

People pass this up? It's so good!

That reminds me though. I don't think I've ever bought an Avery beer that didn't come in a bomber or individual 12-ounce bottle. Are any of their six-packs worth it?

Old Jubilation is great. Like Anchor OSA, I always pick up a few six packs when in season. I am pretty sure there are still six packs laying around, and they age pretty good as well. IPA, and New World Porter are good too.

White Rascal is a nice canned beer for a hot day.

Avery Ellie's Brown Ale is my favorite sixer from them. Very solid brown ale if you like the style....

I always have looked over Clown Shoes, Laughing Dog and No Label. Would someone recommend some good beers from either brewery. The only style I dont care for is regular bock. Cheers

Infected Alpha Dog was solid. I don't think I've had a Clown Shoes beverage I didn't like.

Clown Shoes is pretty solid. Vampire Slayer is my favorite year round beer.

Laughing Dog Anubis is great, but seasonal. If you are willing to wait, the BA Dogfather Ages well. It's not good fresh though.

For Clown Shoes, I like Blaecorn and Porcine Unidragon though the latter is seasonal. I haven't had Vampire Slayer yet, but have heard good things.

No Label Elda M is a solid milk stout.

Agreed on the Clown Shoes. I've haven't been let down by them. I guess its the perception of availability that causes me to look over it.

Also, no label Pale Horse is good. Don't pass it up. It is refreshing to have a pale on the fruitier side and this does the trick.

    Great thread.

There are a lot that I consciously skip due to bad/meh experiences (Sam Adams & Widmer come to mind). South Austin blew up in my face once, is too pricey, and just okay..skip. However, there are a lot listed here above that I never even realized that I skip over and this thread makes me want to break out of my comfort zone.

I skip Victory beers often, with exceptions of course, because I feel like they can't make a solid, balanced beer. Everything has to be cranked up to 11, which can come off as abrasive in IPAs and confusing in other styles. This is the current trend across most breweries right now, which is fine, but I would personally love to see less intense applications of the styles make a comeback.

All in all though, it comes down to different individual tastes, and that's why beer is awesome.

This, popped a bomber recently and man that is a delicious stout! Very well made! I'm glad that I can waltz down the street and pick up a couple if needed!

Anderson Valley Hop Ottin IPA is fantastic, I always walked past it until a year ago.
