Allagash Tripel Reserve. My favorite beer of all time. I see it constantly, but rarely buy it. One day, it may be gone and a part of me will die along with it.

Sierra Nevada in general. Even more so with the price in mind.

I recently had Widmers (I know, the definition of mediocre) Citra Blonde. Granted the citra is barely detectable, but this is a very tasty, refreshing summer brew. Sessionable like crazy with it's 4.4 abv.

No disrespect intended here. But if it's your favorite beer of all time, how come you don't buy it?

Great Lakes Dortmunder Gold and Elliot Ness. Really, you could write any lager not from Hill Farmstead, and you'd probably be correct. (at least on beer websites)

At a barbecue that I was invited to recently, I tried a beer that they had that I really enjoyed: Brooklyn brewery's Pennant 55 Ale. I found myself really enjoying it. Nevertheless, it's probably not a beer that I would typically buy (because I've got my own faves and "go tos"). But that experience is pretty par for the course. There are a lot of pretty good beers that I actually forgo (or take for granted) because I've got my own "go to" beers. But it's kind of sad if you think about it because you miss a bunch of really good ones that way. At those times, someone should tell us "Wake up and smell the beer!"

Hah, touche. I've had it a lot, but I like to try things I've never had before, so I typically buy something else. Probably wouldn't hurt to keep some on hand, though.

It's still fairly new, but I definitely take Two Bros Sidekick for granted. Sure there are better beers, especially those showcasing the citra hops, but Sidekick is always there for me.

Yup. Torpedo specifically is taken for granted. So good, so cheap, so available.

It's a shame but I feel a lot of people don't appreciate Anchor enough (and people will say the same of many big breweries) because of the freshness issue. It's just not possible that everyone is going to try your beer in its best shape when you distribute so far. That said, I love their beer and getting to try them all at the brewery reminded me why. Breckle's Brown may have been the best imo, the Citra really pops when it's fresh.

In CO where I'm from, most of Odell's year rounds fit the bill.

I am drinking a Sierra Nevada Hoptimum as we speak. I've never had Torpedo, but if you've had it, how would you compare it to Hoptimum?

Stone Levitation. It's a great beer, good to session, and pretty decent price. I see it everywhere all the time, yet don't pick it up as often as I should.

I have had both and loved both. I will say that they are rather different though. Hoptimum is BIG. It's big in flavor and big in alcohol presence. It's almost "hot" that the alcohol is so strong. But I do enjoy it quite a bit. Torpedo is more tame compared to Hoptimum. However, make no mistake, it still packs plenty of flavor. What really shines in Torpedo are the hops. There's lots of them and, in my opinion, quite "pine" tasting.

I am confident that if you enjoy Hoptimum you will like Torpedo as well.

I'd say that Hoptimum is made to be a true hop bomb, whole cone hops, full of pine and bitterness.

Torpedo is just a great all around IPA. In my opinion both great beers, but very different.
