I have been very happy with many of the Rotator IPA's, and I do think Widmer is very underrated in general (especially for the price).

Locally, Summit is starting to get a bit more notice with the two series of beers they do now. But their regular lineup has improved greatly, Saga IPA is fantastic, and the old school EPA is still great everytime I have it.

Before I left California, I used to routinely pass up $3 full pints of Pliny the Elder during happy hour at the Davis Graduate. I always wanted to try something new if I could instead. Now,that I live in the Midwest people just shake their heads when I tell that story.

Definitely Bells Two-Hearted for me. Stacks of it, even in the Walmart - two week fresh mostly.

This is so true. Two Hearted is literally everywhere. I've never seen it older than 7-8 weeks, either. Fantastic beer... It's probably the beer I've consumed the most of, and I still don't think I have it enough.

I don't think Sierra is over looked or taken for granted in any way shape or form. It's the number one selling craft beer, over Sam Adams, that's the opposite of taken for granted. On here is praise for how great price/taste SN is, which I agree with. So this is the complete and utter wrong answer.

Beer's I think are taken for granted: Dales Pale ale, GL Elliot Ness, Monks Flemish ale, just Stone IPA. Smuttynose Baltic Porter gets a lot of praise, but isn't consumed as much as it's talked about.

Living 20 minutes from Firestone's Taproom, I pretty much take anything from them for granted. Until this year, I really didn't understand the limited availability of Sucaba and Parabola in other markets when its stocked everywhere here. Much of there lineup is a "go to" for me.

I forgot to put that. IBA, to me, is the most under appreciated beer out there. It doesn't taste like any other beer I've ever had, and don't say Hop Karma, IBA blows it out of the water. I always tell people, if they can't decide between an IPA or a stout, drink an Indian Brown ale and you will be satisfied. This is a great answer because just the fact of how unique and delicious it is, yet know one talks about it.

I think people who are writing Pliny, Two Heater, Flower Power, etc are either a) joking or b) out of their mind

Another vote for Hop Stoopid. I used to get it for $2.99-$3.99 a bomber in Oregon while short on cash, i.e. unemployed. Can't top it and the only beer that got me to drunkenly email the brewery to thank them for the price and quality.

And yes, I got a response from them, which makes it even better.

I think Smuttynose products can be overlooked. I think Old Brown Dog is an outstanding Brown and Finest Kind is a much under appreciated single IPA.

Taking this two ways. The first would be Ten Fidy because it's always on the shelf and I've never bought it or tried it simply because it's always there and I can try it in the future. Terrible reason but for the price it's easy to pass up. Second would be CCB Jai Alai because I can buy it every day and often keep it on hand, but def take it for granted considering it's only available in Florida.

For me, just about anything from Victory and Troegs. I live about an hour from Victory, and about 30 minutes from Troegs. Their products are readily available to me at all times, yet I tend to pass over them for other beers most of the time.

I tend to take Lagunitas for granted at times, and I can get six packs for about $10.99 which is reasonable considering the quality of Little Sumpin Sumpin, Maximus, IPA, and especially Undercover Shutdown.

I agree with Sierra Nevada in the sense that we as chasers of the ultimate beer experiences often pass over the familiar even when it's so well done as in this case. I'm usually hunting the next buzzy beer rather than revisiting classics. I only drink so much and I typically want to reserve that for the umpteen thousand ones I haven't tried yet.

Specifically I'll mention Sierra Nevada Stout. Humble, unassuming, yet basically perfect. Masterfully done. It's so well balanced. It's just quintessential. I'm one of those guys who chases the biggest rare fancy imperial stouts out there. Those are what drive me and I'm constantly seeking the peak imperial stout experience. Yet I don't always want to sit down and have this fancy experience and revel in it and think about it and review it. Sometimes I just want to relax with a stout and think about other things. SN Stout is the answer that always scratches that itch. There are plenty of good stouts out there, but unless something changes, this is the one I will return to when I need a break from the Great Hunt.
