Several different Cantillons at Whole Foods when I was first getting into craft beer. Of course they were around $13-$18 each and I never would have bought them in my infancy stages of drinking craft beer, but it sucks looking back because now it is a very rare occurence to even see a single bottle... sucks.

I was at one of the first festival of barrel aged beers here in chicago. This was like seven years ago. And at the time I couldn't handle drinking super sour funky beers at the same time as drinking sweet whisky barrel beers. And I loaded up on fellow local beers first that were on tap. Mostly stouts and barley wines. They had a case of Isabelle Proximus. I had a brewers pass so I could have had full glasses of it. But all I had was one sniff of my buddy's to at least smell it. But I passed on drinking any of it thinking I would get another chance. And knowing its rarity.... I am an idiot and it SUCKS!

The first and last time I saw it $35 was about the asking price as well. I did buy two bottles but by the time I'd realized my mistake and went back for more all the rest had been sold. I've never seen it since and the place I bought it considers their being able to get that one case a fluke.

Years ago I bought one bottle of Stille Nacht Gran Reserva.
They had a whole wooden case FULL !!
At the time I thought 18 bucks was a shit ton for one beer .
I have since seen a full bottle go for 700 dollars

Founders Backwoods Bastard and Firestone Walker Double DBA.

All of this took place last year but...

I saw about a case of Backwoods at my local Whole Foods store and opted to get Founders Breakfast Stout instead. Not that I regret it that much, FBS is a great beer but a few days later I went back to get some Backwoods and all of it was gone gone gone. FBS was still on the shelf. Backwoods seems to fly off the shelves down here in Texas. No one else had it... hopefully I can get my hands on a 4-pack this year.

I was in one of our biggest liquor stores in town and they had about 3 bottles of FW Double DBA just sitting there waiting to be bought and I just didn't want to part with the money at the time, they wanted about $17 for a bottle but from what I've heard, this beer is spectacular. I wish I would have bought all 3 bottles.

Probably the case of Bourbon County Barleywine that sat on a shelf for months. I was stupid but I did get a case of BCBS so not all was lost.

There is one beer, Parabajava. It was on draft at my local bar, and I was planning to visit again the next day. Well, it was gone. Hopefully, FW will bottle this or I find it on draft again somewhere.

I see Framinghammer everywhere (including barrel aged styles), so you shouldn't have any trouble finding it! Good luck!

A regular trader of mine sent me a text "Hey I'm going to New Glarus to get their new sour release Very Sour Blackberry, you want me to get you one?" Me: "No thanks, I'm a bit overrun with beer right now" FML

No regrets. I've had some great ones, and I'm certain I've passed on some great ones. The way craft beer is growing we'd probably drive ourselves mad chasing down every one of the great beers to come about, along with the countless ones that are already there. I personally just draw my own line on the dedication I put forth and don't regret those I've passed up. And I've passed them up due to cost and willingness to take the time to travel/trade to acquire them. Many BAs will likely get the opportunity to enjoy many beers that I have not, but I'm okay with that.
