I think "The Muddy" is actually going to be a part of the mass distributed GI-AB-Inbevish beers, not particularly special. Could be wrong though

I've actually seen Goose Island's The Muddy available in stores in RI. It's like 12 bucks for a 4 pack so I've passed on it a few times.

I picked up the muddy in RI not long ago. Good, noting special IMO.

Sounds like it replaces Pepe Nero.

    The foolproof table sounds great

Foolproof has been pretty underwelming overall, not the first table I'd hit.

I'd agree with that, but what they are bringing looks pretty darned good on paper. Let's see how the execution is.

    FOOLPROOF BREWING COMPANY
Chocolate Drew – A local IPA collaboration with Drew Shotts of Garrison Chocolates (no relation to Nick!). Raw cocoa was added to the mash, and then the beer was "dry chocolated" with cocoa nibs.

Joaktoberfest – Foolproof's Augtoberfest festbier aged in a Sons of Liberty single-malt whiskey barrel. Vanilla and oak notes complement the Munich malts in this delicious fall ale.

Queen of the Yahd – Queen is the latest entry in Foolproof's lineup of royal IPAs. This IPA is aged on fresh raspberries and dry-hopped with homegrown Cascades from Stefano's own "backyahd" in Cranston. That's as local as it gets!

Rain Stick – Raincloud Robust Porter aged on oak spirals. Welcome the triumphant return of Foolproof's most popular beer from last year's Beervana!

BigS – This English-style strong ale was inspired by a recent visit from a fellow brewer in the UK. "BigS" is the first runnings of a parti-gyle batch brewed by Steve Sharp, Foolproof's lead brewer and resident strong man. This strong ale is brewed by a strong man.

I've not been a big Grey Sale fan, but want to try the Jelly Donut

Sorry, but just the thought of a chocolate IPA makes my stomach turn. Lol

Here is the list for Grey Sale. Looks interesting.

    GREY SAIL BREWING COMPANY

Captain’s Daughter - Double IPA, ABV 8.5%, IBU 69, Our brand new year round Double IPA is loaded with mosaic hops resulting in a tropical fruit bouquet and flavor.

Pumpkin in the Rye - Pumpkin Ale ABV 6%, IBU, 35, A hoppy rye ale brewed with a large percentage of pumpkin puree added during both the mash rest and the boil. Dry hopped with Australian Galaxy.

Dark Star, Blend 1 - Belgian Imperial Stout aged in bourbon barrels, ABV 8.5%, IBU 40, The first release of our Buffalo Trace bourbon barrel imperial stout. Fermented with 3 strains of belgian yeast, then aged in fresh and used bourbon barrels for at least 9 months. Part of our Little Swell Series available at our brewery and select locations.

Flotsam and Brettsam - India Pale Ale with Brettanomyces, ABV 6%, IBU 55, An IPA aged in Jonathan Edwards cabernet franc barrels with brettanomyces for at least 6 months. This first batch is dry hopped in the barrel with Mosaic. Part of our Little Swell Series available at our brewery and select locations.

Jelly Doughnut - ABV 3.5%, IBU 0, the first collaboration with Proclamation Ale Company. A simple grain bill of wheat and pale malts. Mashed with 3 year aged whole leaf cascade hops, then rested in the kettle for 48 hours with a healthy pitch of Lactobacillus. Fermented with a neutral ale yeast to allow the sour to shine. Served at both of our booths straight up or with our own handmade syrups.

I know. I'm sitting at my computer going "Wow" and "Nice". The wife knows I must be looking at something beer related!

I'm going to be in Providence the night after this fest. Any bars likely to get leftover kegs?

Julian's in Providence holds a Beervana after party. The bottle and tap list has been pretty special in the past.

Just finished my drinking warplan. Some very interesting stuff on the list this year. Excited for my 3rd Beervana!

Also What? Cheer Tavern is also having an afterparty.

And for out of towners, the best beer bar in the state (imo), Track 84, is a few minute drive from the venue.

Finally bought my tickets! I'm actually looking forward to the chocolate IPA. I think Foolproof has been staying in their lane for the first few years of operation to ensure the business is sustainable. Now that they have distro in 4 states and the business is doing very well I'm hoping for more one offs and that the execution is there. The LFU Farmhouse Ale makes me think these guys can produce some more gems.

Personally I cannot stand Foolproof's beers. If people really want to see what RI has to offer, you check out the Proclamation Ale Company booth. Dave is killing it.
