Damn, this looks like an awesome fest. The annual chili cook-off I host is the next day though so will have to pass this time :slight_frown:

Beer fest + chili cook-off would be the best weekend ever. And probably the worst Monday ever.

Some of the BeerAdvocate crew will be there, wish Providence had a few more hotels closer to downtown ... everything is sold-out or $300+ a night.

Seriously ... one of the best beer fests I've been to.

Hahaha truer words have never been spoken. If we didn't have so much setup to do for the cook-off that Friday I'd probably consider tempting the fates and going for both.

I'd be shocked if it didn't. I's a superb fest, and the number of unusual beers, sometimes brewed for the fest, is pretty high. There is something for everyone. I was standing in line for Utopias last year (hadn't tried it) and was next to North Coast. They had a nice multi-vintage set of Old Stock Bottles so I tasted and waited. Here is last year's list for inspiration.

Many of these look like they'll be at an importers booth ... or are we to assume these breweries are having their own booth with a full ranges of beers and such?

I'll be there with some of my crew so there must be something going on ... ;-)

The did this last year too. It's a bit of an unknown until the actual beer list comes out. You can kind of figure it out though. It's a bit odd to me. IMO, if the Shelton Bros. are pouring cantillon, don't list both the Shelton Bros and Cantillon as being in attendance. Tiny gripe, the event itself more than makes up for.

All the imports are always at a distributor tables with mixed brewery beers. Shelton is there, along with 3-4 others usually. The only exception I ever recall was a stand alone Sam Smiths table one time. Hoping the full beer list comes out soon, it will provide the clarity we are looking for.

Beervana has announced the Shelton line-up, and while there's only one Cantillon as usual, I think Mikkeller, De Molen, and Dieu du Ciel each have enough differents beers to warrant being listed as separate attending breweries.

    Brasserie Cantillon - Belgium
    Cantillon Vigneronne ABV 5%
Italian muscat grapes are added to a few casks of two-year old lambic to create a rare traditional style. This beer is totally unique to Cantillon and with it’s mild white wine grape aroma and flavor it is a true wine-lovers’ beer!

    Mikkeller - Denmark

Mikkeller Blå Spøgelse (brewed at De Proef) ABV 7.7%
A Wild Lambic Ale with blueberries that is a collaboration between Mikkeller and Three Floyds. Blå Spøgelse will knock you right off your feet with its blueberry and oak barrel action!!

Mikkeller Vanilla Sky (brewed at De Proef) ABV7%
A Traditional IPA with vanilla beans added. A perfect marriage between hops and vanilla ensure this brew is both sweet and bitter at the very same time.

Mikkeller Citra Imperial (brewed at De Proef) IPA ABV 8.9%
A massive Imperial IPA with Citra hops. It’s a strong, often sweet, intensely hoppy version of the traditional India Pale Ale. High alcohol, big flavor!!

    Mikkeller Chipotle Porter ABV 6.6%
A very special and complex dark ale, brewed with American hops and malt, and made particularly unique by the addition of warming chili and hints of vanilla. Think chocolate meets chilli.

    Brouwerij De Molen - Netherlands

De Molen Cuvee #3 ABV 11.4%
A very special blend for the 7th anniversary of the Monk’s Café in Sweden and very limited. This Imperial Stout is a blend of several of the breweries beers, barrel aged in a wide variety of different oak barrels.

De Molen Ball & Chain ABV 7.1%, 26 IBU
A collaboration with Sound Brewery, Washington. This beauty is a smoked Doppelbock with a rich aroma of bacon and barbequed meat and notes of toasted caramel.

De Molen Tsarina Esra ABV 11%, 93 IBU
An Imperial Porter, stronger than a Baltic Porter, with the same malty character as imperial stouts but without the heavy roasted malt profile. Higher alcohol, easier to drink!!

De Molen Spanning & Sensatie ABV 9.8%
‘Tension and Sensation’ is an Imperial stout brewed with cacao, chili peppers, and sea salt that brings both spice and chocolate together on the palate beautifully with a little salty kick to finish!

Brasserie Dieu du Ciel! - Montreal, Canada

Dieu du Ciel! Blanche du Paradis ABV 5.5%
Belgian-style Wit brewed with coriander seeds and Curaçao orange peels. Unfiltered and containing almost as much raw wheat as malted barley, it presents a veil of yeast and proteins giving this style its “Blanche” name.

Dieu du Ciel! Rosée d'Hibiscus ABV 5.9%
A soft spoken wheat beer that is for the true beer connoisseur. The pretty rose color comes from the hibiscus flowers added during the brewing process. The aromas and flavor of this tropical flower are very prominent giving it perfect acidity as well.

Dieu du Ciel! Route des Epices ABV 5.3%
A stunning rye beer brewed with both black and green peppercorns. Initially, the beer reveals flavors of fresh grain and malt, which give it notes of chocolate, caramel, and fruit. The pepper flavor and aroma is fully revealed in the finish, leaving a pleasant, spicy, tingling sensation on the tongue!

Dieu du Ciel! Péché Mortel Stout ABV 9.5%
A very famous Imperial coffee stout that is all about the coffee. If coffee isn’t your cup of tea, and caffeine makes you bounce off the ceiling, then just put the bottle down and find something else to drink

Just finished up with a meeting with our Founder's rep (putting together a beer dinner at the restaurant I work at) and pumped him for some info as I know he always works it. Founder's will be pouring CBS and Goose Island will be pouring Proprietors. Judging by the way this fest works, they will be specified times they are poured. Shaping up!
