There wasn't one last year until Fou came out. I had every beer at thier table last year and besides Fou didn't wait at all.

Just made my plan of attack list and I think 27 beers is manageable. Think I ticked about 25 last year. Hefty amount of monster BA beers but I feel confident I can ride to the occasion.

I'll be sticking with my plan. If it is truly fantastic, I drink the whole 2 oz. If merely very, very good, second sip, dump in bucket. Just good or perhaps worse...bucket. There's just too much beer.

The second level will add an interesting impact, and might cut down the lines in some places.

Someone should probably install a children's slide down the staircase...for safety's sake

My first peek at thread. Impressive and unique offerings from RI and local NE breweries. Crooked Current's Hawaiian Porter looks interesting. Foolproof did a wild LFU. I wonder why Revival did do a Double Black IPA variant. Not even sure i saw the beer on the list.

    Is Beer'd CT only?

Might be in RI also, that's why they are included. It is also my #1 table destination.

Beer'd is not in RI yet. I've also heard nothing about them expanding here. Can't wait to try their stuff though.

I find it interesting that Founders is upstairs this year. I can see there being an issue when CBS is tapped, assuming that it's a timed release. I highly doubt that they'll have enough for the entire fest.

We can only hope it gets tapped along concurrently with Sam Adams Utopias. That should take plenty of heat off the CBS. Historically that gets tapped at 9pm. I expect that to be the case this year too. That's how I got 3 pours of Lou Pepe Framboise 2 years ago.

I agree. I had Utopias two years ago and I dumped out half of it. YES, I DUMPED IT OUT. It's a bit much too down a 27% beer after you've been sampling beers for 2.5 hours. I'd much rather have something a little lighter...Even if it's 15%

Fou Foune tapped last year at the same time as utopias. It took no heat off of the Fou line. Every year before last what you described was my experience as well. Founders has a bigger line almost all night. I just skip them and will do the same this year.

they really rack out utopias at 9? sheesh. that's like a dagger shot then lol. so 1st timer here trying to plan (and with lots of good heavy beers, seems necessary). what other ones will be saved for later? do they give you a list of that there? and any good restaurant or bar recommendations for before or after (perhaps even a good quick bottle shop be4? been about 6 or 7 years since I've been in this area so I can use all the help I can get. sick list though, can't wait.

Cbs, prop, vig, Utopias, and probably kbs will most likely have timed pours.

I wouldn't be surprised if KMF was timed as well.

For a bottle shop before Nikkis in providence is my favorite shop. As for restaurants there is a thread no far down with a ton of options.

The booths will physically write the time on their banner if next to the beer they will be pouring. I wouldn't be surprised is Vignorone is timed as well.

I agree with the Nikki's rec above, but if you are coming from the south and don't have time to go back and forth to north of downtown Prov, I.M. Gan on Warwick Ave in Warwick would be an option. Per Google maps, 1.6 miles/5 minutes from venue.

I drank mine, but it was barely half a 2 oz pour (which is understandable).

I have to wonder whether Founders can do a timed pour for both CBS and KBS. If so, for new folks, never wait in line for KBS, it doesn't run out and you can get it a little later with no line. Lastly, if you see an import you really want, grab it early. Those are bottle pours and they will run out. The U.S. craft stuff rarely does.

While we're speculating on the heat of CBS, a keg of it is also being tapped tonight for a Providence Craft Beer Week event. Maybe that will help too?
