Tributary beers were great especially the wet hop. Tod is an awesome guy too! Proclamation BA Zzzlumber stod out to me, even with all the great stout options. Ticked CBS as well.

I do love this fest, it's run so well and the combination of quality and value is unmatched. Just have to accept the fact that you can't taste everything and savor what you can!

I agree, BA ZZZlumber was very well done.

So can anyone explain the dance troupe to me? Having the band playing was fun (even if they didn't know any Cheap Trick songs) but I was beyond confused when the dance routine began right next to me.

First timer yesterday and I'll definitely be going again next year. I underestimated the line getting in and wound up being a bit late, but I won't make that mistake again.
I was impressed with the line management done by volunteers upstairs in the tight quarters too. Awesome mixture of beers, friendly people, and I definitely got my money's worth.

Definitely the best out of the last four Beervanas I've attended. Awesome that Tod Mott was there pouring his own stuff, along with Sam obviously. I'll go BA ZZZlumber, Whiskey Ten Fidy, and Wet Dogs & Capsized Boats as a top three. Thought SN's Dark Art was delicious too.

I think my top 5 was all captured above, but one standout I didn't expect was the Foolproof LFU wild oak. I am indifferent to a lot of sours but this one was great (a true sours fan may or may not agree). I really want Foolproof to make some good one-off/limited beers so I have an excuse to stop by the taproom...

My favorite beer of the night was probably Brooklyn Black Ops. I got to tick Proprietors, getting in line just in time to be among the last dozen or so. Got CBS as well for the first time, and it's really much better than KBS. Was impressed by the IPA at Whaler, next to Beer'd as well as their stuff.

Didn't dump nearly enough beer out. Broke my own rule on that and paid for it.

Always a big fan of Trinity Redrum. The Brooklyn Black Ops and the Barleywine were great. I enjoyed Revivals stout. Tons of amazing barrel bombs and IPA's squared, but the one I'll go out of my way for next time I'm in his area is Tod's porter. IMHO what a well made beer. After all the pallet wreckers I had I still can remember the porter.

My third festival and the first one I had a hotel and a ride for so I overindulged big time. Oh well it's once a year.

Glad that this fest got Tod and Tributary (back) on people's radars. Guy makes some of the highest quality beers around, just not always in the geekiest styles. Always worth checking out if available.

Pretty solid top 5 list. The Gale's 2005 and Olde School 2007 were also on my list as shockingly good and complex. I was surprised at how much I didn't enjoy the Cognac Jesus, given how much I loved DB Jesus.

Agreed. It was awful. Dark Star I loved, but this version tasted like Robitussin was dumped into a crappy base beer.
