Before, During, or After?

All of the above, depending on the project and level of concentration (or unpleasantness) involved.

 

After.

 

After as a way to reward myself on a task well done.

 

I perspire easily and a lot, so it's water for me so I can get rehydrated after yardwork, etc, not something that acts like a diuretic regardless that beer would taste better and be more enjoyable. Beer is mostly reserved to go with a meal.

 

With my head IN the gutter, ahem, I enjoy beer before, during,.,. and between rounds.

After

 

This should be a poll.

After. The beer is my reward for getting some task done that I’d rather not do. Plus, it’s easier to focus on doing one thing at a time (chore vs. beer) than to try to do both at the same time.

 

If it's a bigger project, I like to take a break around 2/3-3/4 way through to have a beer and get some motivation to finally be finished.

I selected during. Often times I’ll take a break for a few minutes and crack open a cold one before I finish my project.

 

Unless the project is "dinner," I always wait until after.

 

I would have picked D: All Of The Above back when I was a normal beer drinker. Sadly, my answer now is E: None Of The Above

 

Since I WFH, after. There are days I'm tempted though.

 

Depends on the work. Just household chores or projects without sharp blades I like during. Having a beer while doing chores makes it more enjoyable. I often describe projects based on how many beers I drink. Ah that’s not too long, just a 2-3 beer build. These beers are usually on the lighter side.

 

Well after. I need to keep hydrated, so water or a sports drink during and immediately after. Also, beer and various power tools/tractors are potentially not a good combo...

 

After, Beer is a signal to my brain and body that the workin' is done, and nothing else needs to be accomplished.
