Not really because generally you add the chiller 10 minutes prior to flame out, so the sanitize process is done by the boiling wort. Of course it must be clean as with everything involved in brewing.

[IMG] This is my third batch of beer. It's a copper ale from a bag true brew kit. Just wondering if this normal haven't seen this look before. It was bubbling for the first 3 days then slowed down and looks like this. Is it infected?

We can't see your pic because you cannot upload a pic from your computer. A photo has to be uploaded to a third-party photo hosting site like Photobucket, and once the pic is there, copy the Direct Link to your clipboard to then be inserted into your post using the Image icon on the menu bar above the post window.

I'm just guessing from hearing your question, which also gets asked often in this forum, that your beer is okay. Fermentation can be fast with some beers depending on the temp inside your primary fermentor and the yeast variety that you use as well as the health of that yeast. It's likely that your fermentation is winding down, so give it another week or so to fully finish and clean after itself. Use a hydrometer by taking two readings over a 3-day span to see if the reading stays steady and that it is close to the predicted final gravity from your recipe.

If you want to come back and add your pic for us to see, we can give better confirmation of what I said above. Also let us know your batch size, how much and the type of yeast, and the approximate fermentation temp during those three days of bubbling.

That's very normal-looking krausen, and will likely sink to the bottom in another week, although it's no big deal if it doesn't sink. It will leave a ring around the side of your carboy which you'll want to clean fairly quickly after you have transferred the beer to your bottling bucket.

Allow your beer to finish fermenting and then take gravity readings to confirm that the beer is ready to be packaged. Compare your readings to each other as well as to the expected FG to confirm that the beer is safe to bottle.

P.S. Welcome to the BA site and to the Homebrewing forum.
