"Belgian Amber" style?

    my local has put out a beer they are calling a "Belgian Amber" problem is the style is not listed here on BA...discuss

    what style should I use to list it / review it?

    Typically, what a US brewer will call an amber ale brewed with a Belgian yeast.

    Palm Amber and DeKoninck (which is probably what your local is going to approximate) are listed under Belgian Pale Ale, so that's where it should go.

    Agreeing with TongoRad. "Belgian pale ales" range from blondes to ambers.

    What's the local brewery?

    Seconding TongoRad and zid. I was thinking of Ommegang Rare Vos as an example, though.

    OP, it's more or less a maltier form of non-farmhouse, pale Belgian beer.
