    Hey guys,

I am looking make a belgian blond and want some recipe suggestions- I want something pretty textbook 18A. I was thinking Pilsner base some aromatic and saaz with 3522 yeast and maybe a lb of sugar cause I like beer dry. Lets hear the suggestions.

Suggestions? You're already there, just brew it. I would use the single pilsner malt and nothing else. To me the aromatic would be too much. The 3522 is a dandy. Saaz is great, or some combo of Styrian Goldings or Hallertauer will also work. It's amazing how something so simple can be so good.

I'm not a big fan of large sugar additions, but it is a solid way to brew. When I made my La Chouffe clone I just eliminated the sugar to keep it at the 18A level and was very pleased. I did add a smidge of coriander at the end of the boil to keep the Gnomes happy.

If you're looking for something textbook, Jamil's recipe in BCS would be the way to go.

I agree with others, you're pretty much there. Wyeast 3787 is my go to Belgian strain, but 3522 is a close second. You can't go wrong with either.

My tripel was pilsner, a touch of aromatic and 1.5 pounds homemade light amber candy sugar. 1.080-1.012 when I racked to the secondary and it's tasting great.
