    Hi everyone,

Fairly new to craft beers. I was introduced to Cadence from Reformation Brewery in Woodstock GA and fell in love. It says it's a Belgian Dubbel. I'm not really familiar with all the different styles but love this and Nut Brown Ales.

Any recommendations on similar beers I should try?

Westmalle Dubbel, if available where you reside.

    Welcome!

One of my favorites, because it is also easily available here and not terribly expensive is the Ommegang Abbey Ale.

If you follow this like you'll find a list of the most highly rated versions on this site.

    https://www.beeradvocate.com/lists/style/57/

BTW, there are lots of other such lists on this site, each for different style of beer.

Try Sterkens Dubbel if it's available to you.

@drrth mentioned above that there are other lists here on the BA site, so here's a link to another one that ranks the 'most reviewed' examples of the Dubbel style. Therefore, this list is an indicator that the beers at the top of the list are the easiest to find (with exceptions) and hopefully more available to you. https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/style/57/ (If you click on the column header for 'Avg' you should get the same list that he posted.)

P.S. Welcome to the BA site. We're glad that you're here.

McChouffe is awesome but it's kinda pricey. Ommegang has a really good dubbel as well. And of course Chimay Red.

If you want the epitome of Belgian Dubbel beers than the beers brewed by the Trappist Breweries is what you want. But... you have to be willing to open your wallet.

There are some nice US brewed Dubbels but even those beers are pricey (market conditions?).

My favorite commercially brewed Dubbels are from Westmalle, Chimay and La Trappe.

The Dubbels I drink the most are my homebrewed versions.

    Best of luck!!

    Cheers!

Corsendonk dubbel is a fantastic example, my favorite of the style.

New Belgium Abbey is pretty hard to beat and is available in damn near every liquor store known to man. Yeah, it's cool to hate on new Belgium, but this beer is legit.

Great value buys. They both go very well with food as well.

I will agree with the Allagash and Ommegang recommendation as well.

New Belgium abbey is solid and affordable. Other than that I'd say go for the actual Belgians.

Ommegang Abbey Ale. World class, widely available, and won't break the bank.
