The last couple of months has had me relishing some excellent Belgian golden ales and pale ales (as well as a few witbiers). I really don't know why it took me so long to develop the appreciation. I started with a Duvel and have been enjoying others from various breweries (primarily American breweries). I would love to get some recommendations from Beeradvocate readers on your favorites of these styles. Thanks!
Brooklyn's Local 1 is excellent and widely available. I echo Moinette Blonde also. That one is up there for me.
If we are indeed including witbier's, then St. Bernardus definately deserves a place, along with Hitachino' Nest ale. Goldens and Pales- Orval is my #1, possibly of all time, followed by La Chouffe, Don De Dieu, Tremens is nice, Piraat. And IMO tripels and saisons go along with that category, so La Fin Du Monde, and Fantome Saison.
Redemption is fantastic, I'm gonna put in another vote for that. Green Flash Rayon Vert GI Matilda Lagunitas Lucky 13.alt (though techinically an ASDA, still tastes similar)
